Can we make it to Lake Tekapo today? (QT -> Tekapo)

Hi everyone, our supposed plan today was to travel from Queenstown to Lake Tekapo and we have our Airbnb booked there for the day. However, checking the NZTA website, the highway is blocked on both ends for Lake Tekapo so we’re not sure if we could enter Tekapo today? We have snow chains if that makes any difference.

What do yall think? Would it be better if we drive straight to Christchurch because that’s where our return flight in 2 days is or do you reckon the highway open up soon? Thank you for any advice!

EDIT: omg on the way to Oamaru, the entire stretch of SH8 from Cromwell to Lake Tekapo opened up!! We’ve already rode past Lindis Pass and soon to our destination yay 😆

Should I change his speed/planar?

I absolutely looooove Blade's story this patch and I just got an unexpected early E2, yaaaay! (Totally have not been throwing pulls at his banner even though I'm supposed to save for monomen).

From what I read in this subreddit, Blade's speed breakpoint and BiS planar changes when he E2? I'm running this build from when he's E1.

I'm currently running him with:
160spd Gallagoat
160spd RMC
Base spd E0S1 Ashveil

My understanding is that at E2, he is now the "main" dps of this team(?) so it would be better to put him on Duran/Bone. I know we have to pop his field ASAP but I wonder if his current spd + Vonwacq is too much because now I would assume that he just needs to get it off before Ashveil takes action since there's more or less no downtime for his field at E2 🤔. Please correct me if I'm wrong >__<

I do not mind farming new planars for him since my Vonwacq is not incredible either way. I just wanna know if I'm on the right track by changing his build with a more damagey planar and dropping him to maybe 134spd? Thanks guysss

Hi everybody! My dad has been dying to visit New Zealand's South Island again ever since his first trip there 15 years ago. He always told us how it's one of the most beautiful places he ever been to so we decided to bring him back for his 60th birthday on the first week of July.

Unfortunately, we only have 7 full days there and there are many places my dad would like to revisit so the entire itinerary feels tight, though let us know what do you think -- whether we should change anything etc.

Day 1: Christchurch -> Lake Tekapo

  • Touch down at 9am + pick up car rental

Main priority for my dad is to visit Mt Cook so we're thinking of staying somewhere and drive up early morning the next day. It is between Twizel or Lake Tekapo. Based on what I see, there's more things to do and eat at Tekapo(?) hence that's why we chose it despite Twizel being the better location. Not sure if this is the right choice.

Day 2: Lake Tekapo -> Mt Cook -> Wanaka

Day 3: Wanaka -> Te Anau

We will be at Wanaka till late afternoon which hopefully is enough time to explore this beautiful town.

Day 4: Te Anau -> Milford Sound -> Queenstown

Here's where I'm feeling a little not confident with the itinerary. My dad missed out on Milford Sound during his first trip as it was cancelled due to bad weather so hopefully we could go this time round. We decided on staying at Te Anau because we heard the drive is much easier from here.

However, we are also worried that the tour may be cancelled again as we heard that it happens pretty often during winter. If it does, I'm scared that we will waste a day at Te Anau as my dad is not really interested in the activities there and would much rather be in Queenstown (his favourite place lol). But driving from QT to Milford and back sounds tiring, or is it actually doable?

Day 5: Queenstown

Day 6: Queenstown

Day 7: Queenstown -> Christchurch

Is this drive crazy? haha. We may consider leaving QT on Day 6 and stay somewhere on the way to Christchurch but I'm not really sure where else should we go. Back to Wanaka? I'm open to any suggestions!

Day 8: Flight back home from Christchurch

We are not going on any elevated hikes as my dad is not fit enough to do so which is super unfortunate. Though if there's any hidden easy walking trail, please let us know :-) And my dad is stricctttt on having Asian food, so drop down your favourite Asian food recommendations!! Thank you so much
