Frenchie vs Septime

Hi all,

I’m taking my husband to Paris for a surprise overnight trip for his 40th birthday and would love to book somewhere really special for dinner.

I’m currently deciding between Frenchie and Septime (although I know my chances may be slim to get into Septime!).

For anyone who’s been to either- or ideally both- which would you choose for a special occasion?

My husband definitely prefers a relaxed, unfussy atmosphere rather than formal fine dining. Food-wise, he’s not particularly interested in anything too experimental or “out there”- he just really appreciates exceptionally good, delicious food.

So with that in mind, would you recommend Frenchie or Septime? I’d also love to hear about the overall atmosphere/experience at each, as I want it to feel special without being overly formal or stuffy.

Thanks so much in advance!
