Difference between X11 and Wayland?

[[SOLVED]]

tbh i think that i cant be labeled noob, but im genuinely curios about differences between those two. i know basic info like x11 is old compositor and wayland is a new one, but

how do actually apps treat it?

if most apps using x11 so for what reasons i do need wayland?

what is "better"* nowadays?

* better for fresh pc with best specs for example

why wms like hyprland stays on wayland and use xwayland instead of like kde plasma handle it and make divided sessions?

i also want to mention that i already tried to find it by myself with a help of google, but still cant make it clear for me.

p.s.: im using linux for about half a year and im a bit ashamed of dont knowing such common (ig) thing

thanks for every answer!

For what reasons Sway stands out for you?

name of this post sounds kinda clickbait,

but im genuinely curious about what makes Sway stands out from other wms and especially from i3wm.

p.s.: im sorry if this post in any way violating this sub rules or of this post is often/common. beat me to same post if there is one🙏. i really love all the linux users and just want to know more about this one wm

Edit: Thanks for everybody answers!
