Looking for a non-sketchy store that I can physically walk into and purchase precious metal bars for the current market value. I’m not looking for precious metal coins or jewelry, just pure bullion. Any recommendations?

I know that I can buy online but between shipping costs and the wait times, I’d rather buy in person.

Firstly, I am a complete newbie and quite frankly, financially illiterate (in terms of investing). I hope that I do not need to access that money anytime soon, so what should I invest the money in to get the maximum yield (say over a one year term)? Ideally I want something safe. I can add approx 1-2k per month to that. Thanks!
