First time making pocket notebooks

First time making pocket notebooks

I tend to fill up notebooks pretty quickly, so I thought it would be more cost effective in the long term to start making my own rather than keep buying new ones every time I fill up a notebook.

Bought some craft and printer paper respectively from the dollar store, hand stitched the paper together, and covered the spines with washi tape.

Turned a Wallet into a Pocket Sized Traveler’s Notebook!

Bought the wallet from Winners for around $18!Using the rubber wrist band that came with it to keep it shut, and used crafting cord from the dollar store to fasten my notebook and folders inside of it. Gonna use the zip up pouch at the back to store scraps I collect when out and about (receipts, bits of packaging, etc.) for junk journaling purposes!

What got you into journaling?

I honestly don’t think a specific thing/event made me start journaling? I’ve just always loved writing and journaling was just something that just came naturally to me? The youngest I can remember journaling was when I was around 7-9 years old, but I don’t remember why/how I started. I just remember picking up one of those stereotypical diaries that are marketed to young girls that I happened to have and writing in it. Then one day it just became my special interest (I’m autistic.) What made you want to journal? Was there anything specific that got you into it?

Sometimes writing down song lyrics helps me express difficult feelings

My partner has been getting me into Noah Kahn and I started listening to his album “Stick Season” while working today. After a text exchange I had with a family member today that left me feeling really depressed (on top of other family issues I’ve been dealing with these past few months) writing down the lyrics to Noah’s song “Moving Sideways” and my thoughts has helped me express/come to terms with certain feelings.

These entries may seem odd; I’ve struggled with perfectionism when journaling lately, so I decided to use one of the Muji slim notebooks I bought recently as sort of a catch-all journal where I write down random things: notes, lists, daily tasks, ideas, thoughts, feelings, doodles, etc. It’s been very therapeutic so far to have a journal to just brain dump into like this without fear of “ruining” my journal or running out of space for memory keeping.
