Marriage Registration application rejected 5 times by Bangalore RTO
Edit/Correction: “RTO” was a typo in the title. The correct term is Sub-Registrar’s Office (SRO). The title cannot be edited after posting, so please read “RTO” as “SRO” throughout.
I applied for marriage registration 2 months ago through the Kaveri portal. All the required documents were uploaded, but the Sub-Registrar’s Office (SRO) keeps returning the application, raising a different issue each time and delaying the registration.
The issues raised so far include:
• Marriage Details: Upload signature-verified application and self-attested records • Bride/Groom Details: Correct date of birth • Bride Details: No action required / marked complete • Witness Details: Upload witness Aadhaar and self-attest it
Please note that the application is already signature-verified, the date of birth is correct, and there is no option to upload the witness Aadhaar. Witness details can only be verified through Aadhaar OTP, which has already been completed.
The latest query is now asking for self-attested documents, which had not been requested earlier.
I have been addressing the queries as they are raised, but every time a new issue comes up. Now they have raised a 5th query.
I have also raised a grievance through the Karnataka government grievance portal, but the grievance itself has remained unresolved for more than 15 days.
What is the appropriate way to escalate this now?
