Hi everyone,

I recently took the California DMV knowledge test twice and unfortunately didn't pass.

I know there is a limit of three attempts, but I'm confused about the timing.

Do I need to take my third attempt within a certain number of days or weeks, or can I take it whenever I'm ready as long as my application is still valid?

I'd really appreciate any advice from someone who has been through this. Thank you!

How did you find your first preschool volunteer opportunity? (International student in California)

Hi everyone!

I'm an international student from Japan studying Childhood Development at community college in California.

I'm hoping to volunteer at a preschool or Montessori school to gain hands-on experience, but I'm not sure where to start.Our program doesn't seem to include many fieldwork opportunities, so I'm hoping to gain more experience through volunteering.

I'm curious:

• How did you find your first volunteer opportunity or internship?
• Did you contact schools directly, or did you find opportunities through your college or professors?
• Is it common to just email local preschools and ask if they accept volunteers?

Also, English is my second language, and I'd say my English is around an intermediate level. I can communicate, but I'm worried about working in an English-speaking preschool.

If English isn't your first language, what was your experience like? Did your English improve naturally while volunteering?
