Suite second guessings
Hi I keep having these second thoughts on the suite that i chose, i feel like i completely rushed into it and now I’m having second thoughts and wondering if i should or even be able to break the lease i signed.
Heres what happened-
My friend and i went exploring three different suites. We liked sola the best. We both applied, she got denied due to what she wanted to do (sell handmade soaps, scrubs, and oils- which are amazing btw). And ofc i got approved-I’m a waxer. So me being completely new to this whole process. I sign away because I’m high on excitement. I got my suite all set up and the last thing i did was my salon application, Im still waiting for them to process and schedule an inspection-i was supposed to open yesterday but I can’t legally. I told sola, we pushed back the opening to next week.
Heres where im truly second guessing, the rent a week is so high- $280 a week. Im new like started 0 clients. Thankfully i have 5 clients booked this week-im gonna have to move them to next week ugh.
I guess my question is what should i do? I haven’t started at sola, but my suite is decorated and set up. I paid the deposit, its a 2 year contract… nothing in the lease truly says anything about breaking the lease, i did ask the suite manager about it this is what he said: “There is not a buyout clause. Expectation would be to satisfy the term. So it is definitely a big commitment”
Im also torn because i like the lady that did the tour, and the location is really good, my suite is already set up and cutesy. But then i guess the cons are the price, having to change all of my licenses to a different location, and probably losing the deposit money. Also a couple of things that didn’t effect me happened to two different friends-the soap girl and my suite neighbor waited to switch her suite to a different one that opened up and they basically won’t let her and idk i think there was more but i guess I’m worried they will do something ‘shady’ to me too during these 2 years.
One last thing that I’d like to mention- my friend found a suite that is hella cheaper and seems really cute! Its also literally across the street from my apartment building. So I’m just like damn that lowkey sucks, and i shouldn’t have signed so quickly. I was just so excited and eager to start.
Id like to say if you read this whole thing, thank you. I’d appreciate the feedback and advice you guys give me.
