someone asked me to give $ to a fundraiser for a local Ottawa musician's legal issue which I now found out is criminal. they obv didn't want ppl to know because they're so vague about it so psa - do your homework if you're approached by an ottawa musician with a sob story. not sharing deets about open cases obv makes sense but not being honest about being charged criminally is sketch. before you give $ look up the name in the ontario criminal court system, it's public info and you have a right to know even if they're trying to hide it
