Hi everyone, I need help troubleshooting my eGPU setup.

Setup

• Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ITH6H, i7-11800H + RTX 3050
• AMD RX 9070 GRE Reaper
• MINISFORUM DEG1
• Cooler Master MWE Bronze 650 V3
• NFHK M.2 NVMe to OCuLink adapter
• Original OCuLink cable included with the DEG1

Issue

The DEG1 powers on and its LED lights up. The GPU also gets warm, but it is not detected at all. No RX 9070 GRE, Unknown PCI Device, or any new device appears in Device Manager or HWiNFO.

With the TGX switch set to OFF, the GPU fan spins only when the DEG1 is connected to the laptop and the laptop is powered on. Without the laptop connected, the fan does not spin.

What makes this confusing

About two weeks ago, I used the same laptop + same RX 9070 GRE + same NFHK adapter with a Peladn Link S2. The GPU was detected and the AMD driver installed successfully. I sold that dock and bought the DEG1 due to stuttering issues.

The RX 9070 GRE was also tested in another desktop PC and worked normally.

What I've tried

• Reseated GPU and checked all PSU connections
• DDU in Safe Mode
• Tried both NVMe slots
• Cold boot with the DEG1 powered before the laptop
• Verified the NFHK adapter is currently installed in the laptop's PCIe Gen 4 x4 M.2 slot
• Unlocked Advanced BIOS
• Enabled Above 4G MMIO
• Disabled ASPM on all available relevant SA/PCH PCIe ports
• Tested relevant PCIe settings at Gen 4

Still no PCIe device appears at all.

At this point, I'm suspecting the DEG1, its original OCuLink cable, or a compatibility/link negotiation issue with the NFHK adapter.

Any ideas on how to further isolate which component is causing the problem?
