Here's the opinion/appreciation for S4 E 1-5 of a first time, idiot viewer!

Hello community! Apologies for taking so long, but I am finally flu-free! I cannot wait to share my opinions about S4, seeing how many have dubbed it the "gas leak" season.

  1. Maybe its the early episodes, but S4 started off really strong. Episode 1 was great, and 2,3 and 4 were definitely good, with 5 being my fav (as of now). I can understand why some not like it, as even I felt something was missing (maybe the writing is a bit toned down) but till now, its fine.

  2. E1 was mightily fun. Multi-cam style episode (its divisive here, I know) with Abed's show-in-show montages (the rib to other sitcoms with a laugh track was a nice touch), the same old "new year, new us" trope, which fell off once the episode progressed, and the entire gags with false ads and what not, I liked everything. Except for the Hunger games spoof, which I didn't find amuzing (maybe cause I never watched the movies) and they felt just kind of there. Also, Troy and Britta's fountain story was too unfocused. Too much Chaos.

  3. E2 was the weakest Halloween episode we have got till now, but it was fine. Troy was the MVP of this ep: From, "Anybody else parked by a meter? WAIT. WHAT?!" to "I BROKE THE REMOTE! YOU THINK IT'S EXPENSIVE?!" All the way to his delivery of "secret dogs", he was brilliant throughout this episode. The end sequence with Esposito was wholesome. Again, just feels something is missing in these 2 episodes

  4. E3 was equally fine, but I enjoyed it more due to the "friendship tested" scenario with that awkward British creep (which is just regular British, let's be honest). Damn, Troy is a BAAAD boyfriend, and Britta was so supportive here. Annie and Jeff's plot was, again, a meaningless addition (they have turned them into caricatures omg). Pierce's and Shirley's part was hilariously dumb though. The Bow before Thoraxis was diabolical (Joel's hair transplant's the MVP here)

  5. E4 was a great meta episode, reminding the audience that although the group is out protagonist, they are still shitty to other members of the college (Seeing how some of the minor characters were affected by the 7 hogging the study room was such a great payoff). The Germans were obnoxious (which meana job well done), and the part where the group tried to trap them using Annie's boobs oktoberfest (seriously, one of the germans was motorboating the luftbaloons lmao) was awesome.

  6. E5 is my fav. Community is at its best when the comedy doesn't shy away from some wholesome content, instead complimenting each other. Jeff's meeting with his father, and his little brother (who was just adorable, and made a great reference to twins (Arnold and Devito)). Not sure if he's on the spectrum, but he was the MVP of the episode. Britta was awesome throughout, and looked unusually sexy in this episode (I need therapy I guess). The B - plot with the Shawshank redemption homage was excellent too. The end with thanksgiving dinner was the cherry on top of a great episode. I loved it.

Thanks for those who always tune in to read these. Stay safe, don't get sick, and time for Band Practice!

Here's the opinion/appreciation of a first-time, idiotic viewer after the completion of S3!

Hello everyone! I apologise for posting this so late (rough health, don't ask. Not the henta stuff, I swear. I don't watch pixelated stuff anyways). Finished S3 yesterday, and, yeah I can see why some people consider it the best season ever (Personally I prefer that crown for S2).

  1. The last few episodes of this season were, iffy, to say the least. Writing was inconsistent, although I prefer the serialized format and they really managed to do great stretching the arc. The problem? Chang. Look, no offense to Mr. Ken, but he's best when he's used sparingly. Him being the centre of attention (like in the first half of S2) brings things down. The entire arc really falls down once you think about it hard, but oh well, its a comedy show.

  2. Man, I am a Sucker for great thrillers and court based shows (ironically, never watched Law and Order), so "Basic Lupine Urology" was a treat to watch (seriously, along with Pillows and Blankets) this season has the best special episodes for Community, till now. Everyone brought their A game here, especially Jeff and Troy-Abed combo (them switching good cop-bad cop twice in this episode was whacky). The ending twist (I really felt bad for Todd here. Poor guy clearly has PTSD) of Vicki and FFFFAAAATTTT Neil (What an asshole) was excellent. It also has some really quotable lines like "you don't order ketchup", "Boiling water is th3 icicle stabbing of yam killing" and the "you have the right to do whatever you want" phrase. Top tier episode

  3. E18 starts the season ending arc, and for a beginning episode, it rules. The bickering of Jeff and Britta, Jeff being miffed for missing summer, Starburns' request for an eulogy (excellently made by Abed, BTW). The riot really took this episode to a whole new level. Miffed for the group to get expelled, but consequences, people! Man, never knew I would get so irritated of Chang, but here we are.

  4. E19 was another Banger (seriously, multi-episodic arcs had so much potential. These 2 episodes showed it so well). A therapy episode which is also a clips-but-instead-its-all-new-clips montage is genius! I haven't laughed so much since the cold (and laughing makes my head hurt more!). So many tidbits and callbacks to earlier episodes, and then the ending "twist" of them being actually in a institutional centre (they fooled me, cause the group is mental, that's for sure). Jeff bringing back Troy from his realization trance was hilarious.

  5. E20, I dunno, the placement of this felt weird. Then I checked the list a kind redditor made and I should have watched it after Pierce's father's death (stupid me). Anyways, silly episode, gave Pierce a character development and a brother from Los Pollos Hermanos, but that's it. As a gamer though, enjoyed all the parts where the characters tried to understand mechanics (Britta Britta'ed the Alchemy lol, Shirley and Annie killed the Blacksmith(poor guy) and Troy losing everything in bet lol) and repeatedly failing. Abed must have felt like home here.

  6. E21 is not One of my favs, and there's plenty good reasons for it. First, things I loved: Copera, Ocean's 11-esque plot, and GOTH BRITTA! That's it. This whole things falls flat as Chang, the butt of jokes in S2, is somehow competent again, and no one questions his authority and child soldiers. Huh. Community is at its best when things only appear to go off the rails. I'd argue, the most defining characteristic of the entire show is the pairing of dramatic tropes with the ultra-low stakes of a community college. A murder investigation is actually about a yam, a mission to space is actually the study group getting locked inside a chicken bus, and thats the kind of silly people love, like the Halloween Vampire episode. But when Chang becomes a dictator, it's not within the context of some game, nor is it a manifestation of his inner delusions. He ACTUALLY becomes a dictator and he actually kidnaps the Dean. And it just doesn't feel right. It doesn't feel like 'Community'. Did no one else notice his ascend? No news, no coverage? Plus, about Chang. They have butchered his character by taking a good side character for a main one. I think they couldn't figure out how to write him after S1.

  7. E22 was a good episode in comparison to the previous one, but as a season finale, something felt off. It felt more like an epilogue (21 really had the best elements to be a season finale) and the choice to bring Troy back so soon is certainly...something (how can this show, which for most of the time, have really good long term planning, always undo something monumental the next episode? The love triangle in s1 finale, the pierce's exit in s2 finale, and now this). Having said that, this ep has some really funny moments, particularly the courtroom scenes (Alan is excellent being the Smily Heel) and how Jeff coerced Pierce for his "jokes". Was never too interested in the AC repair school plot this season, so am glad it was put to rest here (that whole thing is a cult lol). Anyways, the closing montage was excellent (and I somehow became nostalgic for a show I just watched a month prior...) and it use of "High as hell", the same song Dean played during S1 E1 was a nice callback. Where was Annie in this whole episode?

Oh well, S3 was on par with S2 for being just another excellent season. If it could have fixed its episode 1 and final episodes, would have been top for me. Still, great season nonetheless, and cannot wait for S4! See you all at Band Practice!

Here's the opinion/appreciation of S3 E9-18 from a first time, idiotic viewer

Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing fantastic. Just on the cusp of finishing Season 3 (I still don't understand why they are reducing the number of episodes!) And thought it was time to give my thoughts on the second half of S3!

  1. I can now finally see why most people here hold S3 in such high regard. It started way off for me in the beginning (you can check my other post for the reason) but damn, they picked up a notch in these parts. I know Remedial Chaos theory is a beloved episode, but I find many that can rival it, or even surpass it in this stretch. There was a minor criticism that I was flip-flopping my opinion on declaring the group as "toxic". No I didn't. I have always maintained that, just because we love these losers, doesn't mean they are a bunch of toxic aholes, and I am appalled when they just brush it up with "its because we love each other". Yeah, right...the reason I loved Competitive Ecology is they clearly showed how dysfunctional the core is, and they didn't pull any punches with it.

  2. E9 was a blast. Really, a near-perfect episode from beginning to end. Annie with Troy-Abed is a really fun addition, which I was not expecting (honestly). Jeff and Shirley's relationship really developer well here, especially seeing that ending with little Big Cheddar and Twinkle Town (that was heartwarming). The Batman B-plot was hilarious as well, as were the European trio and their 25 dollar bit (lol).

  3. E10 was equally hilarious, even though it got a lot darker near the end. The songs (especially Troy's rap) are really catchy (this series has a really good gift for that) and Taran Killam is the best (loved him since SNL from youtube). Ngl, it was weird how they never mentioned what even was regionals..

  4. E11 was just a near-perfect community episode. The proposal scene, Shirley and Pierce's pitching (Pierce's character has improved a lot. Good for him), Britta's insane skills of "being a homemaker" (children are dying in Uganda, though), Jeff and Britta's bickering and the final kiss. Still on the fence for Andre though (Once a cheat, you know...) with how he behaved here. The post credit scenes was awesome!

  5. E12 gets a mixed reaction from me. While I loved most of the jokes, like "both versions of Michael Jackson" and "look at his shadow!" (That was diabolical), the episode kinda felt flat for me. The impressions were not even on point (except Britta's MJ) and the whole "we need to pay our friend's debt just because <Insert guilt>". The final confrontation between Troy and Abed was really well done for this reason (and yeah, I think Abed really takes advantage of Troy and others).

  6. E12 was back to community's best, and boy, was it great. Troy and Abed's resentment is perfectly showed here once again, instigated by the great Vice Dean (he's insecure, but that's okay. My choice for Kingpin if Vincent Dionfrio didn't own that role for a decade). Also loved Annie's insane dialogues here (props to the writers for showing how humans are hypocrites in an really amuzing way).

  7. "Pillows and Blanket" is just my favourite episode from Community till now. Its THE best! I have loved every Documentary episode community have made till now, but this one combined History and War (Along with being voiced by THE ARBITER himself!) Makes it the best of them all. Everything, down to the last minute details (of the Greendale campus layout and the building names (Admiral William North is a hero), as well as the perfect lore-drops, fluffy jugglenaut) were incredibly set. The best part for me, however, is the moment where Jeff retrieves the friendship hats. I love that Jeff is letting himself live in Troy and Abed's whimsical world for a few moments, and also really acknowledging to himself how much he values the friendships he has formed at Greendale. Just go watch this episode, its awesome.

  8. I actually really like E15. It was more wholesome than funny (don't get me wrong, it was funny as bonkers) and the end speech of Jeff (Stop making our hatred of ourselves someone else’s job and just stop hating ourselves)was my fav of his. "Need help reacting to something" is a fine phrase I will add in my collection, lol. Really thought-provoking. And Blade's always the best (the Vampire hunter, not Bizarre Britta's Lobotomite BF). Annie's sweater was the MVP of this episode.

  9. E16 is in a similar vein to 15, in that it's humor is great, but man the lessons and wholesome meter is off the charts. It actually sheds a lot of growth on Abed (whose character was on a bit of a downturn, honestly. The writers made him a one-note idiot in some episodes here),who deals with his mental maladies by getting a self-defeating, self-excluding attitude to remind himself his place in the world. Annie was fantastic here. Very underrated episode.

I would say, quite a significant improvement over the first few episodes. Let's hope the last few nail the landing! Stay safe everyone, and see you at Band Practice!

Hello everyone! Have just completed S3 E8, and wanted to share some pieces of my mind. But first, why are the number of episodes decreasing per season? That's a big bummer! I want more, not less! Anyways, you will see me ranting quite a bit today, so I apologise in advance.

  1. Man, not gonna lie, this season started quite on a wrong foot for me. I LOLed hard for the intro of episode 1, but that's the only positive thing for me about that episode. It didn't pick for me until Remedial Chaos Theory (Someone suggested to swap E3 and 4, for better continuity, and I thank them for that). Pierce's character is seesawing between actual progression and caricature, which is infuriating. They have also dumbed down some of the characters, like Jeff and Abed, who were such a treat to watch in S1 and 2s. The acting is consistently great, no doubt about that, but the writing is inconsistent for me, atleast till now. Oh, and Jim Rash became part of the main cast, which I cannot thank enough. Man's a treasure!

  2. As I said previously, E1 is my least favourite episode of Community, as of now. You telling me that Pierce, the racist homophobe who constantly tries to psychologically attack the group and has caused them all a lot of stress and problems, walks in, says he’s changed, and the group immediately lets him back in. He even gets the girls to all go “awwwww” as if saying he’s good now makes everything he’s done in the season 2, ok? It also cheapens S2's poignant ending. But when Jeff, who basically brought and kept them together, who clearly has shown time and time again that he actually cares about the group and has made positive changes for them (which are two things pierce has never done for) is forgotten by everyone. They don't even stand up for him, and are basically okay to leave him out of the group. Then, when Jeff showed some deserved agitation, the group, particularly Annie (who's After acting like a saint after they weathered all the crazy shit she had done? She held everyone hostage over a pen, punched Jeff in the face, got them all trapped in a space simulator so that she can piss off to City College, publicly humiliated a friend with an ancient youtube video of them singing George Michael), tells him his behavior is abhorrent and they should stop being friends? Give me a break, this episode's a joke.

  3. E2 is a fine one, although they have devolved Britta, somehow. The whole MUN debate was hilarious, especially Troy's "Georgia, the country" gag, Shirley's "We got money!" and Pierce and Jeff's bickering about "U R GUAY". The professor from Spider-Man- Homecoming was his usual laid-back but funny here, and Asian Kim was obnoxious. So just like Annie then.

  4. As I said, I swapped "Remedial Chaos Theory" and E4 up, and holy shit! The people praising and hyping it up were not wrong. This was a great episode, and actually showed memberd of community as fully-fleshed characters, and not One Note caricatures. Loved all the timeline hopping, Jeff hitting his head, Troy eating that whole cig, pierce and Eartha Kitt (whoever she is) and the contrast between the Prime timeline (Earth-1? Earth - 616?) And the darkest timeline. As a Scifi geek, I was thrilled. Hope to see the darkest timeline again.

  5. E4 was solid, and I am happy that they finally showed how toxic, shallow and self-centered everyone is in this group! Poor Todd, when the group sinks into being self-centered again and mocked the poor guy. It clearly showed how people from outside view our protags: bully clique.

  6. I actually love all the episodes starting from E5. Felt like the earlier community with its wackiness. Dean (who's the MVP of this ep) dressed as sexy devil and shouting "GAY MARRIAGE" will never not be funny to me. All the stories (particularly the earlier ones) felt improvised, and therefore, just the perfect blend of wacky yet brilliant. The ending of Abed being the sanest of group really leaves a wholesome message, that your disadvantage doesn't dictate the man you can be. Loved it.

  7. "Advanced GAAAY" was equally hilarious, and it gave a much needed character to Pierce. Him finally breaking off the shackles of his father, and healing both himself and his relationship with Jeff, was excellent (that wasn't so hard, was it?) It had the best meme I have ever seen in "I can excuse racism" and "Abed of racism". Not a fan of the B-plot, though. The moist wipes jingle was catchy af!

  8. I LOVED "Studies in Modern Movement"! It was another lowkey episode, which captures Community perfectly. Annie, Troy and Abed's plot was equally fun as it was wholesome (Yeah, you tell them, Girl boss!). Jeff and Dean's little escapade, and their karaoke was my JAM! That song is stuck with me now. Pierce sniffing paint and going "Ah, good evening, senator. Any requests?" Makes me howl everytime. Loved Jeff's story here, though. Man wanted some alone time, but gets caught in a mess, and finally breaks down over a puppet. Feel you man.

  9. I know people say "Remedial Chaos Theory" is GOATed, but for me, nothing beats "Documentary Filmmaking: Redux"! It's, for me, shot-to-shot, the best and most hilarious episode ever. I cannot describe what I love here, cause I love the whole thing! "Loved you on... IMDB", "Threat to segregate the school", Annie's Stockholm Syndrome, McHale acting as Jeff acting as Dean, "UNDERSTUDY!", Dean (undisputed MVP)'s chaotic breakdown near the end, this is just perfect for a community and office fan. I love it!

That's it for me! Will be back after watching E16. Till then, take care, everyone!

Hello there! May the fourth be with you, and good evening. Just completed S2 (had one episode less than S1, which is sad) and I cannot wait to share my views with you guys here!

  1. This entire season started, and ended, with absolute masterpieces of episodes (no hyperboles, just facts). No wonder Russo Bros went to direct Captain America II from here: their eye for action sequences with great dialogues is impeccable here. The last few episodes really tied up all the set-ups they were doing since episode 12 (mainly, Pierce being a dick and group excluding him for it). One of my main complaints for this show till then was the lack of carryover from episodes, as the characters would do or say some pretty heinous things to each other, then be peachy by the end of the episode and that's it. Glad they changed that here.

  2. E21 was really such an awesome episode. I am yet to see a clips episode with new lore-drops and scenes in any other media lol. We saw the actual perspective of Abed from Ep 11, and some never before seen episodes (like the western theme, St. Patrick's day), which were cool. I always loved the low stakes episodes which just focused on the group. Troy's reaction when he said "reverse cow birth" was the best! Dean's dresses were actually quite fashionable (this better not awaken something in me).

  3. E22 is really underrated, and to no fault of its own, as it was sandwiched between a really great episode and an absolute barnbuster of a two-parter finale. Jon Oliver is always the MVP. His throwing of the bottle when Dean (my other MVP) shows up was hilarious. And Pierce's "Make your money, whore," is one of the best delivered lines in the show. The pure malicious joy dripping off of it, coupled with Troy and Abed's shameful reaction to it, really made it for me. The ending was wholesome.

  4. A "Fist full of Paintball" might be my fav episode of S2 overall, and I like it more than the next episode (despite being a full-on sci-fi geek), maybe due to the tension among individual members, or the actual story and twists it showed (or maybe I am playing Fallout 3 and this ep seem pretty similar to it, narratively speaking). Everything here was drop-dead perfection. The writing, the acting, the opening, the costumes (My God, Annie! I get it now....), the factions, pierce's slimy nature (and his faux heart attack trick, its super effective! ), Garrett's sultry dance, the black rider, the cheerleaders.... I love everything about this episode.

  5. E 24 was fantastic too, even if I felt that 23 was superior in every way (especially color grading) but that doesn't take anything away from it. The rebels vs Stormtroopers (who had lore accurate accuracy lol), Jeff and Troy's tussle, Abed's Insane Impersonation of Han Solo and seducing Annie, the whole sprinkling of paint scene, and Pierce saving the day, everything was perfect. Then came the ending. As much as I have enjoyed the group, its not doubt that they are pretty toxic to each other, specially Pierce. So the writer's decision to exclude him from the group henceforth was certainly gutsy. I hope Pierce's still there in S3, and the group try to amend themselves and get him back. Chevy Chase is awesome. Very bittersweet ending.

That's it from me, guys. S2 is done, and if S3 is anywhere near as interesting as 2, I will officially declare Community as the best sitcom. Can't wait to start it. As always, thank you a lot for supporting my first time viewing. Your inside jokes and suggestions are really my highlight of the day. Cheers!

What's up everyone! I know, I watched these 10 episodes a bit too quickly, but man they were so addicting! I apologise for that. Anyways, here's what I felt after 20 episodes deep!

  1. Man the writers were on a roll for ep 6 - 11! I enjoyed every bit of it. In my last post, I complained about the lackluster post credit scenes, and would you believe it, some of my fav post credit scenes are in this stretch of episodes (especially ep 16, with Troy). Pierce's and Shirley's character has downgraded to being basic and monotonous, but more with Pierce. They have made him cartoonishly villain-like (great to see him get wrecked in e16).

  2. E11 was equal parts funny (it's always a party with Prof Duncan), bittersweet (Abed's backstory with his mom) and wholesome (the group song at the end, Pierce the teddy). As a non-christian, you don't even have to be one to notice the care writers put into some of the folklore. And the animation was crisp (Like Robot Chicken). Very underrated.

  3. E12 had one of the best cold opens in "I agree with brown Jamie Lee Curtis". It was actually hilarious seeing Troy trying control Pierce from spilling the beans about Shirley and Chang (who's the MVP of this ep for me). The ending fake out with Jeff and Rich (who is totally a serial killer, right?) was expected, yet stuck the landing. Another great episode.

  4. E13 is a mix bag for me. While I definitely liked the overall play, and the improvisation chang did (it was better than anything V(annie)la wrote), pierce's bits were excruciatingly cringy. And it started the downfall of Pierce's character, atleast for me. Plus, the group blaming Annie for selling out was utter horseshit.

  5. You guys won't believe the amount of hoops and quests I participated to get this forbidden elder scroll ("Advanced Dungeons and Dragons", and as people already might know, I remember the names of ep I dearly love). I love, love, LOVE this episode, starting from the somber cold opening, the orchestral opening theme (Shades of TES IV: Oblivion) and Pierce being the vile gonorrhea he was in this episode. Everyone acted superbly here: Abed was excellent as DM, Fat Neil was extremely Sympathetic, Annie's graphic description of ploughing the maiden while Troy writing them down, Jeff's guilt (McHale has seriously brought his A game in these episodes) and Chang as a Dwemer, I couldn't love them all enough!

  6. E15 was fine, with a classic winger speech to end in a wholesome way. As a Man United fan, was nice to see some football reference here. Troy defending Abed's honor, while Abed encouraging when Troy was dishing the moves, were some of my fav bromance moments. LesBritta moment was hilarious (As well as the cold open LOL).

  7. MY FAV EPISODE EVER! Not only "Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking" combined two of my fav sitcoms ever (community and The Office), but they did it excruciatingly well. Pierce being the slimy villain served the story well, planting doubts among the other group members (that's actually genius, imo). Britta's struggle with money, Jeff's for his father's (their banter mimicking their respective fathers was diabolical), Shirley's for her insecurity, and Troy's for his inability to control his emotions (he was the MVP for this episode. Absolutely gut wrenchingly hilarious. YOU CANNOT DISAPPOINT A PICTURE!). Excellent, Excellent overall. Also, Pierce got beat up, which is always nice.

  8. Between the Leonard and Magnitude face-off, the notches joke, and the spotlight on Jeff/Annie (who always yield great episodes), E 17 was another really solid offering. Dean is, as usual, the MVP. How can a man be so hilarious so consistently! Plus, Abed's side quest was wholesome! (Honk twice if you lot agree)

  9. E 18 is, I am sorry, a sore thumb for me. A genuine misfire. I don't hate it, in parts of course, but as a whole, the pacing felt weird to me.

  10. E19 was a Banger, even for a guy like me who haven't watched both "A dinner with Andre" and "Pulp Fiction". The episode really made Jeff and Abed's pairing mesh well together (they don't have too many teamups since that time when Jeff was bunking at Abed's place). Normal Abed was really unsettling to watch, though. Chang was hilarious, and the bargaining between Jeff and Britta's boss at the end was nonsensically hilarious. Loved it.

  11. E10 was another middling episode. I liked Pierce's and his hot Asian fiancee's story, but hate hate hate the Troy subplot. Not cool. Plus, the ending was going to be so dark when the professor pulled the gun, good misdirection. Overall, meh.

In all honesty, don't let the 2 or so meh episodes dull you. This was, imo, the single best stretch of quality sitcom I have ever watched. Absolutely golden stuff. Can't wait to finish the season. See you lot, soon!

Good evening everyone! I finally finished S2 E10 today, so though of appreciating the season till now. As always, thanks for letting me do these.

  1. This season, in my opinion, also started like S1: Banger Opener, then took its sweet time to get going, and then from E6, its just nothing but Banger after Banger after Banger! I love how they have expanded upon Pierce and Shirley, two characters who had very little to do compared to others in the group. Troy's getting a lot more riveting material, which is always great. Plus, from what I have seen till now, this season's writing has very few misses (don't know how it will be in subsequent episodes, fingers crossed)

  2. E1 opened perfectly: throwing a curveball to our expectations about the love triangle, by making it a game of psychological Warfare. Most shows would have dragged the hell out of it, but the writers just decided "nah, all are assholes" and continued with it. The "Anastasiology" professor was great though.

  3. E2 was a really brilliant episode, especially due to Rob Corddry and the trio's shenanigans in Alan's room (poor janitor guy). We saw a glimpse at Jeff's past, his fall from grace, and the sick dance from Heather Pop and Locklears. Poor chang though, his split personality scene (a nod to Williem Dafoe's Green Goblin) was fantastic!

  4. E3 is underrated imo, for its emotional core. I love how they showed the difference between acceptance and delusion here, and how imposing your ideals on others is just a shitty thing to do, in a comedic way. Bittersweet, overall. Duncan and Chang were the MVPs of this ep though. This is the only episode I watched twice, just to follow Abed's story (that's impressively genius though).

  5. E4 was just meh, except for two instances: "That's right, I know that this isn't a symbol for the crossroads of ideas, I now know it's a butt" And "We are 40 lightyears outside of the buttermilk nebula although it is possible... Yeah, it’s a sticker". I absolutely howled during these, even replayed them 8-9 times. Dean was the MVP of this ep

  6. Although the opening scene of E5 where Duncan "teaches" Anthropology with Youtube's help is one of my favourite opening scenes, this is one of my least favourite episodes of Community. It's just too metal for me.

  7. Start of the Golden run, imo. E6 was just non-stop fun! It tackled horror (they actually showed graphic biting!) And comedy (Troy returning back in the ripley rider, only to get swarmed lol) brilliantly. Too outlandish? I will agree, but I am not complaining.

  8. E7 was equally hilarious, even though the "burns" became kind of tame as the episode progressed. I paused Abed's GUI display and read some of it, especially some dates for Annie and co, and Troy's birthday (wholesome). Some clever easter eggs, I suppose. But the twist was Joshua. I thought him and the backyard with trampoline was a metaphor for Jesus (or Jay-Z, for the black community), but that guy turned out to be mega racist! Didn't expect that lol.

  9. Ahhaah! Those dates were of the menstrual cycle of the ladies! That's a weird way to start a sentence, but "Cooperative Calligraphy" is one of my new fav episodes (Only the second episode I remember by title). Everyone was in their hilarious best here, especially Pierce. Wheelchair Pierce is the best physical comedian ever! The writing was at its peak, so was the acting. "Unless time is linear”, “I’ll make your ass linear”, “that doesn’t make any sense”, “I’ll make your ass sense”. I LOVE this episode!

  10. Another Banger episode in "Conspiracy theories and Interior design". If your B plot (the blanket fortistaan) is more hilarious than most sitcoms, you win. I loved the Blanket fort, and all its world building! That place is more well organized than any major metropolis, and they even have proper permits! The A plot is simply indescribable. You have to watch it to get it. The final few minutes of this episode is some of the hardest I have ever laughed! Dean, once again, is my MVP. "I don't know, I can't keep track of it anymore"!

  11. "Mixology certification" was really, really wholesome for me, particularly Troy's and Annie's convo near the end. Everything was too cute, like Troy's "Not Birth" day cake, Annie imitating Caroline Decker, Shirley helping Pierce near the doorway, Troy's character development here, everything just hits.

  12. Damn, going from only remembering one episode's name in S1 to three on trot! Community is on a roll, man. My only complaints till now are the absurd post-credit scenes, which were better in S1. But everything else has been an upgrade.

Here's to watching 10 more. See you lot, after E20! Take care!

Hello everyone! Season 1 is done, and it's time to give my opinion on ep 16 to 25, and of S1 as a whole. Thanks for appreciating me in my previous posts. Movie reference!

  1. As I said previously, the show just kept getting better after each episodes, but some of the episodes here, that took away from the sitcom format, were really crazy (some great, some not so much). All the characters have grown (save for Pierce, you cannot improve perfection), the side characters got more layer (one thing I love about this show) and Donald Glover is getting more and more materials, which is always fun.

  2. I don't particularly remember much from E16, but my God, Britta in that red dress was glorious! Jeff and Abed team up was really fun. On the contrary, E17 was mind blowing! The gang prepping up Abed to bed Jenny, Jeff's self consciousness shedding away faster than his clothes, "baggle" (I thought it would wear away, but the laughter just increased). One of my fav eps upto that point.

  3. E18 was, meh, to be honest. I still don't get why professor slater dumped jeff (honestly, a real waste of a character). But Shirley's sons letting Abra (Who came up with the name? Professor Oak?) Play in the bouncy house and Jeff and Pierce's convo at the end was wholesome. Plus, Jeff's (ex) stepdaughter was great too!

  4. E19 was going in the similar meh direction, with that handsome squidward-potter plot, but the Boat sub-plot saved it for me. So many great lines, especially "Don't need it, never had it". Pierce's character can be so much more than the "racist caricature".

  5. E20 is hilariously underrated! The scene with dean, Shirley, Annie and Abed is what makes community fun: character chemistry! And it had it in aplenty! Love the easygoing episodes like this.

  6. I am gonna get flagged for this, but I didn't like episode 21. Everyone acted out of their character, the sudden tonal shift felt like a whiplash, and the more you think about this episode, the more it doesn't make sense.

  7. Loved 22 though, even if I cringed hard when Pierce pantsied Shirley. Wtf was that. Jeff and Britta working to teach those pesky kids (the actors were great in it, I literally hated them. Especially Blonde, Malnourished Ron Weasley).

  8. "Modern Warfare" is the only episode I remember by name, which tells you how much I Love this episode. Everything, from the eerie yellowish-green tint color grading when Jeff wakes up (reminiscent of 28 days later and Fallout) to him confronting Dean Rambo-style (The look suits him), I love everything about this episode. Donald's Arnold impression of "you sonofabitch" was damn hilarious! Chang's homage to Scarface was excellently done (He's becoming one of my fav characters).

  9. "Now she is going to make the Disney face. Her lip is going to quiver and her eyes will flutter but they won't ever actually close." Perfect description of Annie in E24. It was another feel good episode, marked by a really rare selfless act from Pierce.

  10. E25 was a mixed bag for me. On one hand, lots of great jokes, especially Dean and his dalmatian fetish (Dean is another solid character), but the love triangle drama was honestly unnecessary. This could have been a perfect episode to seal the deal for Jeff-Britta (like Jim and Pam), but instead they shoehorned Annie into it too (Poor Walmart Paul Walker).

Overall? Fantastic season. If the rest of the 5 season is even half as good as this, I am in for a treat. The post-credit scenes declined in their hilarity for me, but still were enjoyable nonetheless. Really excited to see how they handle this love-rhomboid mess. Thanks for bearing with me, everyone!

Hello guys! Its me, and I have finally watched till Ep 15. First of all, thank you so much for being an active part of my viewing journey. Some people complained that I am doing this for Karma Farming, and I apologise, but this is genuine. So let's dive:

  1. These 5 episodes are like some of the best I have seen from not only community, but most sitcom TVs ever. The cast's chemistry is really starting to show. Plus, it feels like everyone's getting something significant to showcase and are not just in the background.

  2. Ep 11 is my fav so far. It had everything, like everything. The way Troy said "Don't eat the crab dip" had me rolling.

  3. Ep 12 had the focus on Shirley, who I found incredibly wholesome, despite her initial push back ("Lord is testing me" is a one hell of a one liner). This episode had some of the best lines/ memes like "I will allow it", "religion is like Paul Rudd" and the whole "Applebees" thing.

  4. Ep 13 was, eh to be honest. Jack Black is awesome, but I found his scenes incredibly cringy here. Maybe its on purpose.

  5. Ep 14 and 15 were just some of the most easygoing and chill episodes. I loved the return of hot professor, and how Jeff and Britta dunked on Vaughn (Speaking of them, I loved how they toned down their "Will they, won't they" aspect. I criticised that in my first post).

  6. Pierce's slapstick comedy are still the best. His racist and homophobic jokes, eh. Troy and Abed are my dream duo, the perfect halves. Their post credit scenes are sometimes the highlight of the show (particularly 12 and 15). I need more Donald Glover!

Thanks for reading this far, guys. You all are the best. I will make sure not to spam these, as some have complained. Will post a new one after the end of the season. See ya'

Hi everyone, its me again! First of all, thank you all so much for welcoming my sorry ass to this, honestly wholesome group. Its really riveting, going back to that thread, and understanding all the inside jokes that you lot made.

So, here's my opinion after first 10 episodes:

  1. The show started off slow. It was admittedly a bit hard to watch it, considering how the characters took their time and were just settling. I knew that syndication TV didn't consider the binging aspect of shows back then, and it shows.

  2. But Boy, it picks up after Ep 5! All the character moments were awesome, the chemistry is hilarious, and it's pretty feelgood to see them all coming together in the end of each episodes (especially E10).

  3. I got an instant infatuation on Britta, which many people told will subside once I set my sights on Annie (A thought I found incredibly hilarious). By the Debate 101 ep, I actually stand corrected.

  4. Troy is being massively underutilized so far. Donald Glover is doing what he can, but I need more man!

  5. I did a 180 on Pierce. He quickly became my goto funny guy once he embraced his slapstick comedy. His one liners were excellent.

  6. Jeff- Britta's story is.... I am sorry, but, its meh. I get the initial "will they won't they" jim-pam situation, but this is just tiring. Maybe they will be together by the end of series, but till now, hard pass.

  7. All the side characters are really multidimensional, especially senor chang (dude got a hot wife though, mah gawd).

  8. The post credit scenes are THE BEST!

That's all I have to say. Thanks for being part of my watching journey.
