It was just confirmed that the Warhammer 40k Commander decks are getting a "small" reprint. Nobody knows yet what this means. This isn't a "40K singles are going to crash" post. They might drop a lot, a little, or barely at all.

If the news made you think about selling or the news has you wanting to get out there's an option a lot of people skip.

Listing on TCGplayer right now means joining the race to the bottom. Take Thunderhawk Gunship: its market price still says about $15, but near mint copies are already listed below $9. To sell yours, you'd have to undercut those listings and hope nobody undercuts you before a buyer shows up. Even a sale at $9 nets you about $7.80 after fees.

Meanwhile, SCG is still buylisting it at $12 cash.

Buylisting is the other route. Some 40K cards still buylist at Card Kingdom or StarCityGames for close to (or even more than) what you'd net on TCGplayer after fees. You also get to lock in your price and will get paid in 1-2 weeks.

No guarantees here either. Buylists can drop at any time. The more people read this and submit buylist orders, the faster those bids fill and come down. CK and SCG also work differently once you've submitted:

• Card Kingdom honours the price you locked in, as long as you ship within 7 days.
• StarCityGames buylist prices are discretionary. Even after you submit an order, they can decline to take the cards.

I'm not telling anyone to sell. I'm pointing out an option so you can make the call yourself.

As a power-buylister with over 13.500 buylist orders to Card Kingdom myself, I shared my buylisting tool on this sub two months ago. The two most requested features from that thread are now live:

1. More buylists. Star City Games' buylist is in, so every card now shows CK and SCG offers side by side.

2. Marketplace comparisons. Each buylist offer is now compared against what you'd net selling the card yourself on TCGplayer or ManaPool after fees.

The marketplace comparisons influence all my personal buylist decisons. I'll use one of my specs as an example: sword of feast and famine from Assassin's Creed. It currently goes for about 36-37$ on TCGplayer and Manapool, with buylist offers for 33$ and 18$ at CK and SCG. After fees and shipping the CK buylist offer will net me the most, plus I get to offload 24 copies at once. I'm usually fine taking up to a 10% hit for instant liquidity, in this scenario it actually beats market so it's a no-brainer for me. If some copies would grade as EX the 15% downgrade will sting a little, but that's not enough to swing this decision for me. Maybe more important, never limit yourself to just 1 buylist, in this scenario SCG only pays 50% of the other options.

The warm reception to my previous post made me want to tackle another problem in our hobby. We've all been there. You've finally brewed the perfect list. Now ... how do you actually assemble the physical deck without getting fleeced?

Every existing tool only checks its own platform. The TCGplayer optimizer only looks at its own marketplace, and Direct pricing means you'll sometimes overpay on individual cards while still ending up with a big pile of packages. Card Kingdom's and Star City's deck builders are solid, but they rarely have your whole list in stock, and each only knows its own prices, so no single store gets you everything at the best rate.

deckbrokr scans several trusted vendors at once (Card Kingdom, Star City, TCGDirect) and builds the cheapest total order, cards plus shipping. Because it's pulling from a few reputable stores instead of one, you almost never get overcharged, and it lands in 3 shipments instead of the 50+ you'd need chasing each card to its individual cheapest seller.

I included a sample cEDH K'rrik deck as an example. deckbrokr assembles it for about $4,970 across just 3 packages. ManaPool can reach a similar total, but only by splitting it across 18 separate shipments. TCGplayer comes in at $5,700 and 9 packages. Same deck, brokered for the lowest total at a fraction of the packages.

Want to push it further? Some cards get highlighted with a cheaper listing on the TCGplayer or ManaPool marketplaces. You can chase that extra saving, but it means buying from individual sellers and adding to your package count, so it's your call.

If you want to try it out for yourself: paste a decklist, set your options and hit 'Broker my deck'. You will get the optimal order split and can click links to open each store's pre-filled cart and check out from there. Prices are from the last sync so the odd card may have sold out or have its price updated.

If this sounds useful, give it a shot yourself. This is an early version. I expect there are plenty of bugs, and there's a lot more I want to add, but I wanted to share it with the mtgfinance community already.

I've sold over $1.7M to Card Kingdom's buylist over the last few years, across more than 11,000 orders (proof). No way I could've done that by hand.

Buylisting more than a few cards to CK manually is miserable, you look up every card one at a time with no clue if the price is actually good or if CK just stocked up and is lowballing until their stock clears. With a collection my size there was no way to keep an eye on every card, so ones that were actually worth money ended up in my bulk.

So I built a tool to do it for me, and I'm opening it up for free. You import your whole collection (Moxfield, ManaBox, csv, whatever) and it pulls the current CK buylist price on everything at once. Bulk lookup isn't anything special though, plenty of available tools do that.

What actually makes a difference: every card gets a 6 month buylist history, and you can set alerts. The example I always use, sometimes CK isn't buying a card at all right now. Simple tools read that as worthless and tell you to bulk it. But a card being off the buylist right now doesn't always mean it's worthless, sometimes it just means you have to wait for prices to come back. So enable an alert on it instead, and the day CK starts paying again, you get pinged. That one habit alone has made me stupid money on cards I'd have otherwise bulked.
