My son (5) drives my c54 all the time, and has become very good at driving it through my trails, so we got him his own c64! Alot of fun with the family for sure. Now time for upgrades and mods! Gonna be alot of fun picking out stuff online and then building them together. Maybe even get the wife involved, who knows....
Noticed I was getting alot of nose diving when going down hills, and sliding during crawling. So I added some weight in the rear, using some old mechanix pieces I had. Wrapped around the rear frame great, and added the weight I needed. Also made a bumper from the same leftover pieces, and used some shackles from another bumper I had to top it off.
The main mod was the rear shocks, changing the angle more forward like this gives the truck way more articulation and ride stability on the trails. Had to cut some body stops, and trim the shock mounts, but once I did that it lined up perfect with the next holes forward on the chassis. Highly recommend this mod for anyone looking for more crawling capabilities for the c-54.
The squatch is back for the season. Snow melted, trails groomed and worked on daily. Softer tires and with the lower gears on the 370 set up is great! Gonna need some beadlocks tho, tire comes off of the rim alot.
