48 business hours is a new measurement of time for me
I took my 2025 Ioniq 5 (purchased 13 months ago) in to the dealership on June 17 after I heard a “pop” and “check electrical system” message popped up. Figured it would be an ICCU issue and an easy fix. It took 2 weeks for the “high tech centre” to communicate to the dealership, during which I wasn’t entitled to a loaner/rental car.
After 2 weeks they said it was an iccu and got me a rental car while they ordered the part. 3 days later they installed the part and said that didn’t fix the issue. It’s now been another 2 weeks as they are “working with the high tech center” to run diagnostics and see what the issue is. All the while their communication has been terrible. Oh and they left my car unlocked on an open lot because they didn’t want to lock it and not be able to unlock it. They didn’t tell me it was unlocked, I only found out after I stopped by the dealership and saw it in the middle of a parking lot lane (not in a spot) unlocked.
I wrote an email (and phoned) Hyundai Canada customer service 5 days after I took my car in to see why I couldn’t get a rental. I didn’t get a response until 5 days ago, saying they would contact me in 48 business hours (6 business days).
Funnily, I did get a response from Hyundai America Customer Affairs, a lady phoned me, asked me a bunch of questions, then said she couldn’t help me and I’d have to contact Hyundai Canada (which I had done 3 weeks before!!!)
Just venting, but this is ridiculous. The dealership has had my car for a month and still don’t know what’s wrong with it.
(Probably) ICCU replacement experience in Canada
Last Tuesday I heard a pop from the rear middle area of my 2025 Ioniq 5 and “check electrical system” came on the dash. I drove 10km home (slowly), made an appointment at a Hyundai dealer for Thursday morning, driving another 10km to get it there.
The dealer said they were waiting for the tech center to advise them, and it takes 4-6 business days. During that time I’m not entitled to a loaner car or rental car. Is this normal in your experience?
The dealer said the tech center responded, and asked them for more info, which they provided, and now they are waiting to hear back again. It’s now been 10 days without my car, with no real word of what’s going on.
Just wondering what other Canadians experiences have been recently.
