Short form content is why you're depressed.

Ever been scrolling on Tiktok or Instagram and felt depressed or apathetic after? It's probably because content that goes viral on these platforms almost always produces an emotion; this is the premise.

You are essentially scrolling through emotions. One second you're happy; the next, you find something politically charged or racist. Then you see Onyango Tate flexing his mercedes, which makes you jealous. The next video is Ruto lying about some other thing, followed by a big booty Kisii babe shaking nyash; this makes you horny and so on.

I think it's pretty obvious that our brains are not designed to process so many emotions in such little time, this fucks with your brain on a chemical level and doing this for hours on end basically trains your brain to live in an overstimulated state.

Small wonder Gen Z is the most sensitive, depressed and fragile generation ever. Our capacity to handle emotions is completely messed up.

Break the system guys, rise above.

Any black Rastas here?

Wagwan guys, I just joined this sub reddit and I am a bit shocked by the number or white people, this is not a post against that, I am aware that Rastafari is about love but are there any Black people here? Nuff respect.

On that note, any book recommendations? I just read "Rasta and Resistance" by Horace Campbell and it has not whetted my appetite.
