I live across the street from a gas station/truck stop. How can I still have a garden?

I hope you guys can help me out, I got a bit overwhelmed trying to find actual soil testing for contamination so I just have to operate on the basis my soil is contaminated from run off. I live right across the street from a truck stop/gas station. I want to have a garden but I'm afraid to plant directly in the ground. Is my only option to plant in containers or raised garden beds? I didn't think weed barrier would be enough to keep contamination out of the plants since I want to grow some vegetables.

Thanks in advance for any advice and information.

There are a lot of bugs thriving in my soil if that means anything. Snails, Slugs, rolly pollys, centipedes, millipedes, worms, ants, stick bugs.

Roger the Rouen has leg feathers 🤗

Just thought her lil leg feathers would be appreciated here! From what I can find online, it's not a health concern and doesn't impede her in any way. Just a unique trait that can happen. Also included her precious lil face 🥰

This is my first time raising ducklings, they are about to turn 6 weeks old. I have a khaki campbell, a rouen, and a Pekin. The other two don't seem to have any issues and they are all always together. I've been giving her Vetericyn in her eyes for a week or two but I can't tell if it's cleared up or if she is still having problems. It's less red/pink than it was for sure, but seems like there is still a pink tint. It's hard to find close up photos of a pekin's normal eye for comparison. Her water is deep enough to dunk her whole head and I change their bedding often and keep them well ventilated. I change their water multiple times a day to keep it clean. I just want to make sure my Daisy is ok, she's so sweet. I really don't have the $100+ to take her to the vet if she doesn't need it, but I will take her in if she does need help. Besides her eye looking pink, she's normal. She gets zoomies, she quacks with her siblings, she's curious. Thanks in advance for any advice and help. I added a couple photos from a couple weeks ago for comparison as well.
