How much time doyou spend talking realtors out of mistakes?

Can I vent? I'm going to vent.

Shot a listing today for an agent who's dropped the price three times and can't figure out why it won't move.

In the same breath she told me:

- lighting doesn't matter

- straight lines don't matter

- bracketing is unnecessary

- her 10MP camera from 2005 is "still great"

- she's been doing this 20 years

Cool. And the listing is sitting.

Buyers are scrolling Zillow on a phone in bed at 11pm. The first three photos decide whether they tap or keep scrolling. That's the whole game now. You can have 20 years of experience and still be playing by 2008 rules while the buyer pool has completely moved on.

Some houses sell on cell phone pics. Most don't. The price drops aren't the problem — buyers never got far enough to care about the price.

Needed somewhere to share a win.

Did a gig as event photographer tonight for a friend that owns a catering co. He was catering a brokerage dinner. Met the whole brokerage and asked to come talk to a class of there new highers about media and how important. Also picked up two new listings to shoot next week. AND got fed amazing food, so that made it just that much more amazing

Platform options like HD Photo hub but for non-property photos/videos

How do you all handle non-property work? I offer stuff like realtor headshots and personal branding reels that promote the agent, not a listing. HDPH seems to be built around an address being tied to every shoot, so I'm not sure how to fit this kind of work into it. Curious how others manage this.

Aerial art prints of property for closing gift?

Has anyone been asked to turn an aerial photo into an art print for a closing gift?

I shot a large property recently and the buyer's agent reached out asking if I could sell them a print of one of the aerial shots of the full property to give to their clients at closing. I've already worked through the licensing side, but it got me thinking — this might be a solid upsell to offer on every shoot. Grab an extra aerial framed for the hero shot and pitch a print as a closing gift add-on.

Curious if anyone is already doing this. What are you charging, what sizes/finishes are people actually buying, and who are you using for print fulfillment?

As a realtor what are you looking for in your media partner?

New to real estate media, but not new to business. One thing I've learned the hard way: the fastest path to growth is finding the biggest pain point and solving it better than anyone else.

So — realtors, this one's for you. What do you wish your media person did differently? What keeps falling short shoot after shoot? Could be anything: delivery speed, image quality, communication, pricing, the booking process, the way they treat your sellers on site.

The uglier the honest answer, the more useful it is. Fire away.

Using AI to mine outbound calls for a refined pitch?

Started something new today and curious if anyone else has gone down this road.

Like most solo shops when I'm not on site shooting, I'm working to drum up new business. Today I started recording my outbound calls and feeding them into AI for sentiment analysis and overall review.

Day one didn't surface anything groundbreaking — a few mild trends but nothing actionable yet. I'm assuming the value compounds once there's a real sample size to work with. Has anyone tried this? What did you actually get out of it once you had enough data?

(For the lawyers in the room: I'm in a one-party consent state, and the recordings are handled the same way any recorded customer service call would be.)

Full-time RE photographers doing 15+ shoots a month — what was the ONE thing that finally got you there?

I've been full-time with my real estate media business since November in the Phoenix/Mesa metro and I'm stuck on client acquisition.

What I've tried:

  • Instagram outreach
  • Free first shoot offers
  • Discounted promos
  • Dropping materials at brokerages
  • Realtor meetups and groups

Numbers so far: ~50 shoots total. After the first handful, almost every agent tells me they love the work. 13 have booked more than once, 4 have booked 3+ times, and 2 are repeat clients with 10+ shoots each. Great clients — just not enough volume yet to make a living.

For context, I offer photo, video, drone, 360 tours, and virtual staging with same-day delivery.

For those of you running consistent volume — what was the one channel or shift that finally moved the needle? Trying to cut through the generic "post more on Instagram" advice and hear what actually worked.
