USS Illinois, BBG-1. Designed by me.
This was a fun little experimental design I made a while back on the idea that the last two Iowa Class battleships were completed.
USS Illinois was the last of the class and her construction was halted when she was nearing completion, much like USS Hawaii. Instead of being scrapped, the US Navy chose to complete Illinois with the latest technology and she was commissioned as the first guided missile battleship (BBG). She was then modified extensively throughout her service and upon her retirement in 2012 with her sisters this was her final look. She was placed in reserve for 3 years before being turned in a museum ship in Philadelphia where she resides today.
