I’ve received a bunch of contrasting information about when you can come visit the cadets and for how long. to my knowledge, i thought they graduated basic training on july 31st, but the parade seems to be august 5th? how long can you see them on that day? and then after that, how would parents weekend work and what dates/ how long? Any other times before that? thank you!
Hi!! My boyfriend is a class of 2030 USAFA cadet!! woohoo! I wanted some advice because i’ve seen mixed reviews from people on here and obviously i know every situation is different. we’ve been dating since october of 2024, but that entire time we’ve been chasing different goals - mine with playing DII lacrosse in West Virginia and his, obviously, with pursuing the academy. Our entire relationship, we went to the same school, but we were the two most involved kids in the school by far - but in completely different areas. so we would really only see each other maybe once on the weekends for genuine time together. what i’m getting at is that we aren’t codependent on each other, but find little ways to support each others success like 30 second i miss you phone calls, im proud of you texts, etc. we are independent but still go above and beyond for each other. based on this, would you say it’s a good chance things won’t absolutely crash and burn? he LOVES discipline - he lived his life like he was already at the academy for years now. like im talking 9pm bedtime and daily 5 am 6 mile runs every day. Im well aware that the first year is hell, but he seems to like that kind of thing and it never stopped him from making even a teeny bit of time for me, literally a 30 second phone call saying he loves me would make my entire week. thoughts? advice? thank you guys!!!!
