Remember the Titans (2000) “whose team is this?”

Unreal energy from Denzel, but what else is new?

Game of Thrones - The Man Formally Known as Reek: We can all agree that the boy Theon Greyjoy was a twat shit for the first act of Game of Thrones. He betrays the only family he’s ever known, is a sleazeball to every poor woman in his path including his own sister, and kills in the name of a legacy of pirates that never wanted him. Miraculously we grow to sympathize with him, largely due to the torture he suffers at the hands of Ramsay Bolton. Ramsay inflicts every kind of physical and psychological torture on Theon, going so far as (trigger warning) >!cutting off Theons penis and forcing him to watch his sister Sansa be sexually assaulted!< all while enforcing Theon to abandon his identity and simply be known as ‘Reek’. After escaping with Sansa and slowly growing back to a better person, his uncle Euron Greyjoy destroys their naval fleet and begins cutting out the tongues of any survivors. Theon sees this and is paralyzed, retraumatized. Euron laughs as Theon abandons ship and hopes to fight another day.

Saving Private Ryan - Upham: After their squad survives the normandy landing, they travel through in search of James Ryan, and upon finding him dig their feet into a small town to make a stand against encroaching enemy forces. Chaos ensues pretty quickly when the enemy forces prove to have overwhelming firepower. Upham this whole journey has been put through trial by fire and forced to reckon with his mortality, as well as killing others. During a skirmish upstairs, a german soldier excruciatingly struggles and ultimately stabs Uphams squadmate Mellish fatally. To make it all worse, Upham just listens to it all, and even permits the German soldier to walk past him to get down the stairs. Naturally we the audience are furious about his inaction, all the while having seen what Upham has seen, one can’t exactly blame him for being petrified.
