Off Campus is big, but it isn’t bigger than Bridgerton

I've seen some comments lately claiming that Off Campus is now bigger than Bridgerton, usually pointing to the show's social media engagement after its debut and the recent Season 2 couple announcements.
Off Campus has an incredibly active online fandom. Its audience generally skews younger, and they're very engaged on social media.
But if we're talking about overall viewership, the available numbers don't really support the idea that it's surpassed Bridgerton.

Off Campus reached 36 million views in its first 12 days, which is an outstanding result and makes it one of Prime Video's biggest recent romance successes. However, Bridgerton Season 4, reached 39.7 million views in just its first four days on Netflix.

That's not to diminish Off Campus at all as it has been a phenomenal breakout hit with a very passionate fanbase, and I enjoyed the show myself. But social media engagement and overall viewership aren't the same thing.

I think it's fair to say Off Campus is one of the biggest romance adaptations at the moment, but based on the viewership data we have, it isn't bigger than Bridgerton in terms of global audience size. I also think it's unlikely to surpass Bridgerton, especially considering that Netflix has a significantly larger global reach and subscriber base than Prime Video.

Edit : I never said it was a competition guys, and I even talked about how off campus is a phenomenal hit and one of the biggest romance adaptations at the moment, I think that some people didn’t read the entire post.

Theory on the “Geoffery Pinery” Pinterest board

I found a post today while scrolling through the Franchaela sub, and in the comments, I came across a really interesting theory that I wanted to share here. This is the link to the original comment, and all credit goes to them because it’s such an interesting find. I recommend reading it before coming back to this post.

With that being said, regarding the Geoffrey’s pinery board for Franchaela’s season, do we think this is the Geoffrey who unfortunately made unwanted advances toward Francesca? I had heard about that scene before from other Franchaela fans that had read the book, but I never knew the suitor’s name was Geoffrey. What do we think - and why a pinery?

When did you join the fandom ?

I just wanted to ask this because I know some people tuning into Franchaela's season haven't watched Bridgerton beforehand and are only tuning into the show now because of this specific season. I don’t know if that specific demographic would be on this subreddit currently as most of them will probably just tune in once the season releases instead of actively engaging in the fandom before then, but I still thought it would be an interesting question to ask lol.

So, were you already part of the Bridgerton fandom before the Franchaela season 5 announcement, or did you join after the announcement was made?

What specific episode is your absolute “comfort episode” that you always rewatch?

Whenever I’m in the mood to rewatch Bridgerton, I always end up going back to Season 2, Episode 7.

There’s something about the way the tension finally starts to crack between Anthony and Kate, and all those moments where they’re clearly trying (and failing) to keep their feelings under control.

It’s not necessarily “calm,” but it’s comforting in that everything that’s been simmering all season finally starts to feel like it’s coming to a head, and the emotional payoff just feels really satisfying to rewatch.

I love Episode 8 too, but Kate falling off the horse makes me sad, so I don’t rewatch it as much as episode 7 😭. Curious to hear other answers.

A Lady Danbury spin-off would be incredible

I would honestly love a Lady Danbury spin-off in Bridgerton. I know the next one in the works is probably going to be about Edmund and Violet, and I would love to watch that as well, but I honestly really love Lady Danbury.

She’s one of the most compelling characters in the entire show, and every time she’s on screen she brings so much presence. I feel like there’s so much of her backstory that has only been hinted at, and it would be really interesting to explore more of how she became the influential figure she is.

A series focused on her younger years or her continued rise in society would be amazing to watch.
