Looking for a fic
idk if this exists but i swear i’m going crazy trying to find something of the sort, but i’m hoping for a buddie fic that’s a canon-compliant through/after s9 (or at least doesn’t contradict it too much), preferably set after the finale and predicting s10.
what i’m really looking for is an eddie-centric sexuality realisation where he’s still dealing with a lot of his catholic upbringing, religious trauma, internalised homophobia, and everything that comes with it.
to be specific, i’d love something where:
- eddie is completely oblivious to how his relationship with buck comes across to everyone else.
- buck realises his feelings first and either confesses or something happens that forces the issue.
- eddie absolutely spirals. i’m talking full identity crisis, panic, denial, guilt, questioning everything he’s ever believed about himself.
- family dynamic with theo being in the picture now.
- he doesn’t immediately accept it or run into buck’s arms. i want him to genuinely struggle with the idea that he might be in love with his best friend.
- lots of introspection, angst, and emotional growth before the happy ending.
i know the likeness of this existing is pretty slim but if it doesn’t yet … someone pls write it i beg of you 😭
