My son was born on the 09/09/2025 which apparently makes him a triple 9 LP?
Very new to LPs so keen to hear your advice/theories on the triple. I’ve read things about 9 and it’s kind of scared me haha!
Watching some of the violent youth behaviour in Melbourne lately, I can’t help but feel like the education system (and more so the judicial system) is struggling to build real accountability in young people.
Bringing back the cane is obviously not the answer but I do think there’s a gap between behaviour and consequences. Us teachers obviously have no support and this is a huge part of why we are trying to improve our conditions at the moment.
Students can just repeatedly cross lines without any follow through and they quickly learn there is nothing we can do about it. You can just imagine their great grandparents turning in their graves saying “I’d never speak to an adult like that”.
Surely stronger consequences would actually help? What do you guys think would work? I know the UK fine parents whose children miss a lot of school and put the pressure on them to actually parent. I hope the government actually allows schools to do something one day because it’s so clear that the state of schools at the moment is truly mirroring society in the worst way possible.
Holding them accountable in school will surely help them to understand consequences in the outside world??? Seems obvious but our government aren’t that clever.
