I think he thought that he had a chance at the top because of all the people saying that he was already stronger than levan. Every comment section is full of people going "Brian beats levan ☠", and i think this inflated his ego. If you set expectations too high, the fall when you eventually lose will be worse. Everyone loses, even levan. He lost loads before becoming what he is now, but he didn't quit. This is why i think that famous people that transition from strongman or power lifting or whatever will always give up. No one is ever going to come in and take the SHW title within 2 years of training.
