22F, Looking for Apartment Advice: Moving to Dayton
Hi! I just graduated and will be working at WPAFB. I've been seeing a lot of mixed opinions about apartments but most are from 2-10 years old and wanted to see what people would recommend now.
I'm leaning towards downtown but apartments are so expensive there. I found a few that were in my budget (1400/mo) but when driving by the area for the cheaper options seemed a bit sketchy especially as a young woman. I would love an area with young professionals and was also looking at the Greene (which I've seen lots of controversy about).
Also, I lived in the university district in Columbus. So I'm unaware of how street parking works in Dayton in comparison. Is it paid or do you need a permit? Most appartments are expensive then have private parking for $65+ a month, so I was looking for ways to get around that for downtown parking. And is street parking not advised?
If anyone has any advice for good places to live that would be amazing! Thank you so much.
P.s. $1400/mo including base rent and utilities/fees (such as parking)
THANK YOU
