Post PGY2 Jobs
Hello! I’m currently finishing my PGY2 in Critical Care in a highly competitive market with several nearby programs. As it stands, CC positions are scarce.
I have enough savings to cover my expenses for a few months, and I’m debating my next move. Am I being unreasonable by holding out for a CC-specific role rather than taking a general staffing position? It feels a bit like a waste of a specialized year to take a job where I won’t be utilizing the skills or seeing the patient population I just trained for.
Would you recommend waiting for the right fit, or is it better to start in staffing and try to transition later? I'd appreciate your thoughts!
