ITC and IC Spanish Speakers

Hi everyone,

I recently applied to the county wide ITC and IC open positions, and I was curious whether the departments that are hiring prefer Spanish speakers over non-Spanish speakers for the role. I know it does not state this anywhere in the job posting, but other admin jobs prefer Spanish speakers, and I am thinking this could apply also. I cannot speak Spanish whatsoever and wanted to see if this is something I have to worry about. I really want this position to get my foot into the county and have been patiently waiting to move unto the interview stage, praying that I get band 1.

Thanks!

Clerk Exam Clarification Needed

I recently applied for an intermediate clerk and intermediate typist clerk position in Los Angeles County. After conducting research, I discovered conflicting information regarding the exam content. The job description mentioned four areas of testing: general problem-solving, customer support, learning potential, and responsibility.

Will the exam be similar to the SHL practice tests (pattern-based questions, calendar-related questions, and complex math problems), or will it be more like the clerical tests that are on the LA County website? There are two or three practice tests that have questions based on alphabetical order filing, basic arithmetic, identifying errors from the original text to the copied text?

I’m particularly concerned because it seems SHL will be administering the exams, and those practice tests especially the general problem solving ones were way more difficult than I expected. I wanted to verify if LA County will be asking me to take SHL created exams. I would greatly appreciate any help on this. Thank you!
