The road to become a crna

Hello fellow redditors. A little background on me, I am 21 years old. I dropped out of high school and went right into a job in the fire apparatus industry. Last September I changed directions and got a job doing lead abatement. I am currently certified by the Maine DEP as a lead supervisor. In 2025 I got my hi set and scored ok with a gpa of 3.49, if I had taken my time I could have done much better. My pretest scores would have put me slightly below a 3.9 with writing being my downfall as you all can probably tell from my botched attempt on this post lol.

Now the real topic.

this is my first time posting so I’m unsure who this will reach or what to expect for feedback but anything is better than nothing. I’m just starting my journey to become a crna. I have been accepted into a bsn program locally and will be starting in the near future. Is there anybody in the crna community that didn’t come from the greatest academic background and were still successful in these programs. I recognize that for me personally it has never been how hard something academically was but rather not having interest and in turn not applying myself.
If there are folks who share some similarities with me was there anything that helped you not loose the light at the end of the tunnel. I could go on and on but essentially I have no family or friends who have pursued anything remotely similar so I have little real world info other than my advisor who has no experience in the crna field.
