Current PGY1 contemplating radiology after doing a term with lots of imaging exposure (enjoyed the imaging even if I'm still very average at interpreting it).
Are the Lightbox radiology online courses or the Radiopaedia online courses more well-regarded in terms of low threshold CV items to show interest?
Am currently talking to my radiology department but wanted to dip my toe in and ask the broader community before committing to full on study for the Westmead or Inform medics exams.
Currently an intern at a tertiary regional hospital interstate and looking to move to Sydney for PGY2. Studied med in Australia and am interested in psychiatry long term. Making the move for non-career reasons.
What's the general trend in PGY2 job availability been since the move to the 2 year framework?
General chances of landing a job at one of the Big 4 + Vinnie's vs. hospitals 40 min to 1.5 hours outside the city like Gosford or Wollongong?
Anything I can offer workforce to better my odds such as taking on an additional relief or after hours term?
Additionally any networks known for offering supportive psych RMO terms or psych PHO roles that lead to psych reg job offers down the road?
Already well around the pay reduction and generally worse conditions I'll be heading into. Have also been in contact with medical workforce at various hospitals and mates working around Sydney, but wanted to see if the community here had any additional insights.
