The unit is from 2009. The outdoor unit is from 2015. Called AC repairman due to a leak a few days ago and he said that the rust was coming off and clogging the drain line and that it was going to keep happening. He also said that the mold was extensive on the unit and the best choice was replacement. I understand that units rust and mold is going to be present and that doesn’t necessarily mean a full replacement but I’m worried about the clogging especially since we’ll be going on a few vacations in the next few months and I don’t want to come home to a disaster.
