Over or under watered?

I’ve got some plants that are looking pretty sad. They get about 5 litres of water (30L fabric pots) every 3-5 days ish depending on how light they are to lift and what not.
I’m wondering if anyone can help with this? It seems to me like they’re ready for a water again but some advice i was given is that they’re overwatered and have no oxygen in the root zone. I’m wondering if anyone can confirm this or?
Edit: for context, I did just give all the plants a good defoliation yesterday as under canopy airflow wasn’t great. It’s my first grow so not really sure what I’m doing
