Hey everyone! Hope you’re doing great!
I’m pursuing MSc Sustainability and Corporate Governance here at the University of Glasgow. Well my cohort has just 8 students including me so a bit difficult to socialize but anyways what I wanted to enquire is about the exchange or short term visits to universities in UK or other countries like the USA or Canada. Could someone tell me that if as a postgrad student here for 1 year, is there a way to do short term academic or research visits to top USA, Canadian or UK Universities. I really was planning on this since my school days and wish to do it but not aware of the ways or administrative/logistical hurdles. I have a research framework regarding sustainability which would ultimately create a positive impact in my country and my home state. So I wish to gain the knowledge, experience and exposure from such short term visits to the Top Tier Universities and then further apply it in my home state which would help the local people and the society. Previously, I had been working in the social/humanitarian domain for 4 years since a young age. Also I have been searching but there are no opportunities for my sustainability field or my research framework in Scotland, cuz mostly they are in London.
Anyone, has any idea or would like to help, please let me know, as I am an international student that too its my first time outside my home country, so ya I am open to advices and guidance and shall be extremely grateful! Thank you so much!

I got backstabbed by a person for 4 times. Specially just before coming to Glasgow. The previous 3 times I could come out of the trauma and depression somehow alone. But this time I am trying to but unable to come out of it. Not just trauma and depression, I am stuck in a blackhole and going through loneliness as well. I don’t even have someone to talk to. This is the worst time in my life at this age of 21. On top of that starting my masters at this university. So I am not able to explain everything but I seriously need help to find a good female friends. I am a kind, respectful, soft, supportive, caring and loving type of guy. At such times the world feels unfair because no matter I try to reach people. Only few reach back. So I need to come out of this and need to heal, and I truly believe if I find good female friends, I will be able to heal from this tragedy as well as companionship is something which can help me a lot. Everyday has been a struggle for me to live and I am somehow fighting too.
So I have expressed my honest situation, if someone can please help, it would be big for me. I would always be extremely grateful. Please.

Hey there! Hope you’re doing great!
I’m an incoming postgrad student at the University of Glasgow, and honestly, getting to this point has been a massive journey. Dealing with the pressures alongside severe mental health struggles regarding loneliness and depression, has made me realize how important and crucial it is to find a friendly and fun community while studying abroad.
I've grown up with a huge appreciation and love for the mindset, culture and social energy of international students, and it always gives me a 'home away from home' feeling.
I'd love to connect and build some genuine friendships with international students here at UofG. This would seriously help me a lot in Glasgow and also in life further.
Also I tried to reach out to as many people as I can on Unibuddy and Instagram but very few reply back, which is sad. Moreover, going through such a time, I wish to find a partner in Glasgow, and would like your help, advices and tips. I’m a kind, humble, soft, respectful type of personality guy. A partner would be a big help for me to come out of the traumas I am going through.
