Australian/Irish Qualification
Hey all,
I’m a bit stuck and would really appreciate some outside perspective.
I’ve done 7/8 FE-1s, have an LLB, and a couple of years’ experience in Irish law firms. I’m currently in Australia and now I’m torn between just finishing the FE-1s and qualifying in Ireland, or pivoting and focusing on qualifying/practising here instead.
I’m so close to finishing the Irish route, but at the same time I’m wondering if it actually makes more sense to build my career in Australia now and leave Ireland for later (or maybe never go back).
I’ve looked into transfer routes like QLTT too, but I’m not fully clear on how realistic or smooth that is in practice.
Just wondering if anyone’s been in a similar spot, did you finish qualifying before moving countries, or pivot halfway through? And did you regret either choice?
Just a bit conflicted on what path to take.
