I'm considering buying a house in Barrhaven near Rodeo Drive, Ottawa. The property is within/near the NEF 25 aircraft noise contour for YOW.

I'm trying to understand what this actually feels like for someone living there.

For people who live near Ottawa airport or in an NEF 25 area:

• How often do you actually notice aircraft?
• How loud are the flyovers from outside?
• Can you hear them clearly inside with windows closed?
• Is the noise disruptive to conversations, TV, sleeping, backyard activities, etc.?
• Roughly how many noticeable aircraft do you hear on a normal day?
• Does it bother you after living there for a while, or do you eventually stop noticing it?
• Are there particular runway directions/wind conditions when it becomes much worse?
• If you knew a house was in NEF 25 before buying, would you still buy it?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have lived there for at least 1 year, rather than just occasional visitors.
