Looking for actual play suggestions.

I just got into Starforged thanks to a comment that suggested the Bad Spot. Now I've binge watched his series of Starforged and Sundered Isles.

But it seems I got spoiled with the good stuff, as I don't care much for what the Algorithm suggests.

Some are pure podcast, and I prefer video on my videos. Others skip world building, and you know, prep play is game play.

I welcome any suggestion you throw at my way.

Difficulty spending experience.

I have been playing a Starforged game for a while. And I've accumulated enough XP. I've upgraded some of my assets and bought a couple more. But now I read all the options and don't feel interested or that it fits my character.

I'm playing an exploration focused game so I went with explorer, navigator and sensor array. After hacking enough doors in game I decided to buy the path, as it fit the story. I also picked a copilot so I paired it with the sidekick asset.

So I look at the assets and say this looks cool, but not for my character.

I'm wondering if anyone had this problem and what they did.

What breaks you out of a session?

In my case its dice roll derailing the story. Like I have and an idea where everything is going and a couple misses makes me stop to envision a whole new story.

Last night I tried a Make a connection, trying to help a settlement leader. (Miss) She tries to imprison my companion. With a strong hit in a compel I manage to stop the incoming shoot out inside her office. With everything calmed down, went for the connection again. 2nd Miss, well F-You, lady .

But I had to stop because now I have to review where the story is going.

Need help diferentiating explorations and quest.

I'm rather new at Starforged, but I'm having a blast while figuring things out. But I have difficulty deciding what is a Vow, just an exploration or both.

Recently finished a Formidable exploration to find a planet and couldn't help feeling it should have been a vow also.

Now my character has landed and has three objectives:

  1. find the lost colony
  2. find a way to dissable the fleet of murder robots waiting in space.
  3. find what happened to the people that lived here.

I Think #1 is an exploration, but not sure about the others.

Asking for solo rpg suggestions!

I find myself due to unexpected circumstances with a lot of time and no people to play with, so I'm interested in trying solo rpgs. Right now I'm reading Starforged which is both intriguing (the oracles and overall theme is evocative) and overwhelming (I'm not understanding all the rules).
