turning in circles and not accomplishing anything

Hey guys , I have been learning houdini for months, not for work, I have a job but I just learn houdini as hobby for me.

But I'm really fedup and lost, as sometimes I found myself needing other subjects to know before completing a small project and you know houdini , each subject is an ocean of knowledge and I think I burned out with this method.

For example, I'm doing small pyro exercices, at some point I need to understand and see difference so I need to wedge right ? to see variants..Well I go to learn PDG and then I forgot about the initial project and so on for each smaller project I start.

same for flip, I completed my sim and need to render, but don't know solaris, I open to learn solaris and get there then unable to complete, and forget the flip sim etc etc.

there's also something in between I need to know, I'm lost at how to proceed, Houdini unlike max or other softwares is very deep

How do you know if an animation (of an asset) is too quick for the stable FX

Hey excuse this stupid question but as noob, when I download assets from sketchab, mainly moving animals to use for flip, pyro etc, I don’t know if I should retime the animation or not ?

What is the clue that the fx is unstable when doing it on something either too fast , or maybe too small or too big ?

Like would the fx in question be too chaotic ?

It means I should run the sim before knowing if the animal animation asset is too fast or not ?

near point max distance in VOPs

Hey guys,I need your help please in POP VOPs

In vex the near point help show it has a max distance argument we can add but I don't find it in vops documentation nor in the node.

I have like some points in the air and I'm looking to find the near point (from v@P) at some distance and fetch some attributes from that points.

Any idea ? should I use point cloud ?
