What are your honest reviews on private schools such as Montclair Kimberly, Pingry and/or others for elementary school? Particularly for people of color.
And yes I recognize that this is a privileged question.
A little background: We've lived in Montclair for several years. We never planned on moving here and NOT using the public school system for our children but here we are...
One child is starting kindergarten in a year, and I just can't wrap my mind around 21 five-year olds and 1 teacher, given the recent cuts to the Montclair school budget. And the ratios go up from there.
They cut the languages, library teachers, tech teachers, Jr sports and more at the elementary level which I could live with. But the teacher student ratios are high, especially for a high energy boy. I'm looking for smaller class sizes.
Also home prices are crazy so not looking to move at the moment. Thoughts on the best private elementary schools in the area? Thanks! (cross-posted)
