Is it normal to still have a bad scent even after showering?

I’m honestly kind of embarrassed to ask this, but I don’t know where else to post. I shower every day, use deodorant, wear clean clothes, and try to keep up with basic hygiene. The problem is that sometimes I feel like I start smelling bad again only a few hours later, especially if it’s hot outside or I’ve been moving around a lot.

Nobody has directly told me that I smell, but I’ve become really self-conscious about it. Sometimes I’ll catch a whiff of something and immediately assume it’s me. I’ll end up reapplying deodorant multiple times a day because I’m worried other people can smell it too. I’ve tried switching deodorants, washing my clothes more often, and even changing body washes, but I still feel paranoid about it.

Is this normal, or is there something obvious I might be missing? Also, how do you tell the difference between actually having body odor and just being overly anxious about it?

Any advice would be appreciated.
