Separation anxiety or just dramatic?
Hi all,
Our whippet boy is almost 2 years old. We were doing well with him being alone, but then puberty hit. We had to start from scratch, literally with just 10 seconds outside the door. We finally built it up to a couple of hours. So this night in particular we were away from 18:00-23:00. From 19:00-20:00 he was quite restless and there was some howling (see video haha). After 20:00 he settled and napped on the couch until we were back.
Seeing this behavior on the camera stressed us out a bit but in the end he settled. Should we be worried and work on this more or is he just a bit dramatic from time to time? A few weeks ago we were away for ~5 hours without any issues and we are regularly away for short amounts of time (30min - 2 hours).
