the views were just so calming ,our itinerary was
bhivpuri station->dhoom lake->garbett plateau->jungle trail to matheran->neral
Took the first khopoli fast in the morning got off at bhivpuri station. From there is you're not sure about the route select dhoom lake in google maps , after reaching there google maps are pretty useless i'd say follow the trails and ask the locals(😭there's literary a village up there) and just follow the lake till u see a small waterfall.
Now it is beginner friendly but if you are anything like me and didn't slept the night before it's gonna be exhausting there are plenty of shops in the trails and them for directions and take rest as my friends called them "Pitstop" and trust me, you will need so much more water than u can carry.
the plateau is hard to notice from below it is only after u reach it suddenly you will get the most scenic views you would curse your way up in steep trails but after reaching it will all feel worth it
i saw so many people quit around 50-60 started the trail but only 3 groups(10-15) reached the plateau as u can see its empty . i would say push it and get to top anyhow there's even a cave on the way
after reaching the top sleep ,take rest and highly recommended bring tiffin ,after that we got to the garbett point it was the steepest of all rocks and risky ,wouldn't do it if it was wet ,after reaching the highest point its just heaven kinda reminds me of rdr2, and water bottle at the point are 50rs a piece soo buy it in advance.
After that there's a trail through the trees that goes to aman lodge(matheran). you will see 2 ways take the right path. reaching matheran enjoy the views of toy train,buy tamarind ,carry and take the cab to NERAL railway station. it costs around 120 per person , most expensive part of treck .we didn't plan that and walked 😭walking on road declining down is straight up torture we switched to walk on train tracks got 4 km down and a empty cab going down took us to neral for 50 ,life saver
