Leslie West plays lead on Who's Next

Just watched an interview with Leslie West of Mountain. He claims he was invited by Pete Townsend to play lead on Who's Next. The official OG release had Townsend playing lead due to changes to engineers/producers. He said you can hear his contributions on the re-issue of the album as the bonus album remix.

Apologies, I tried to link it but I'm a dummy. If you want to chase it up, the interview was with Howard Stern

Treasure trove of suggestions

I have lately been bingeing on OG post punk & thought I should share with other P-Punkers.

In Youtube there is a poster called "creative flow" who posts entire John Peel shows. Select a show dated between 1978 & 1985. Each show is dated and, the songs are tagged.

You'll hear lots of stuff from the time, not just P-Punk, but adjacent, selected by someone whose taste is very relevant. I find new bands all the time that are never suggested in this sub. Lost to time.

Also, if you widen the search to 1986 to 1990, you'll hear lots of music that was inspired by the OG wave but is not actually P-Punk.

Here listed are some of the stuff I've found that I liked:

World Domination Enterprises. Asbestos. Lead. Abestos.

A Witness: Camera. Great like Fall

Diagram Boys. 1980. Animals etc.

Bloods. Button Up. 1982.

Higgsons. Put The Punk Back Into Funk. 82.

Rappa Robert: Dis. 82 weird PP Reggae

Born BC: Dear Jesus. 1982

The Cravats. The Precinct.

The Swinging Laurels. Bang Bang. (Rip Rig & Panic)

Minimal Man - Blue Step.

Chakk- No.3 Sound.

Nightmares - Smokers Delight

Parrot - Clonk's Coming.

Golden Palaminos - Clean Plate

Mediators - Times Your Own?

Reluctant Stereotypes- The Lull

Transmitters - Ugly Man
