Crystals I grew a while ago and forgot what they were
Grew these crystals from a kit a few years ago and threw away the packaging, so I can't remember the name. (biggest ones are about 5 cm long, but they were all once in a big chunk before falling apart).
When googling I found the closest match in MAP crystals, but after checking out this subreddit and seeing all the other similar looking crystals I'm no longer sure.
BUT! My actual burning question is:
Can one type of crystal be grown over the top of another?
Can these crystals (depending on what they are ofc) be used as "crystal seeds" for copper sulfate?
What would happen If you put MAP/cirtic acid/borax in copper sulfate solution?
Would it mess with the crystaliztion process? Would it create some interesting reaction? Could it ever grow new crystals faster then it dissolves? (since obviously what's grown in water is water soluable).
All of these questions popped into my head when I thought about how cool it would look if blue copper sulfate crystals were grown on top of clear/white crystals. But I know almost NOTHING about chemistry or crystal growing (aside from this 1 succesfull attempt after many failed ones).
So I decided this mught be a good place to ask this.
