Hello all, I hope you find this message to be a good use of your time because I would very much appreciate any assistance given

I found my step sisters old macbook pro in the garage and decided it might be good to use as like a home server or something, but upon booting it up (i've never worked with a macbook before) I come to understand it's locked by activation lock, I ask her for her assistance and that proved to be as of no help, I erased the macbook only to be suprised by activation lock once again ;-;

So now im kinda stumped because now I genuinely have no idea what to do... why are apple products even made in a way that renders them useless, aint that a climate issue? Anyways, is there anything I can do or am I cooked?
