TLDR/: How strict is the 2 month Toronto consulate rule?

will Toronto consulate immediately reject me if there’s 5 weeks from start date…… or should I try again to explain to my school the visa appt date was out of my control or risk it even tho it’s less than the 2 month minimum they require? I have to get a flight and quit my job so I’m wondering if I should use the safer start option in January which they said I can do but am rly hoping to start at the latest possible date in November on 15th

hi, my carta said I can arrive in the first half of November or first half of January. I asked if I can show up 1 week later than Nov. 15 if my visa is late, and they said the arrival dates stay the same even with condensed visa timeline. my visa appt is Sept 29, do I show up with documents (accommodation (air bnb) and insurance etc for Mid November or since its less than 2 months (which the Toronto Consulate asks for) would they reject it and should I have documents prepared for January start instead? Anyone else in the same boat? Thanks!

My info in Carta says: "assistants who do not have European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or the UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) must complete and send a digital copy of the Health Card Declaration form"what is this form? Is it the medical self-signed form we signed for our profex application or our Dr. medical certificate or what?... The NHS site keeps saying im not eligible why?

if my visa appt was scheduled 5 weeks before should I ask to start pst Nov 15 even though they said I can start Nov1-15….?

Toronto consulate says this but they scheduled me for Sept 29 and it says Nov 15 is the latest November start date. should I try and reach out to Nalcap/region and see if they’ll accommodate for a later start date or how strict is the 2 months appt rule?

I feel silly and know I should’ve checked earlier but my tracking number had no updates since I sent two weeks ago and I’m very scared and confused even to start two weeks later? has anyone filled out a emergency form to get it earlier and speed up the process with gac for this reason

hi- my Carta says "Note: The deadline for starting work is either November 1st to 15th or January 1st to 15th. Applications will not be accepted in December. Please confirm receipt of this document within 5 days. Best regards." so we can start anytime between these dates? is this based on visa issues or personal preference... does anyone know?

I sent them my proposed appointment email with the pay, school and city info and my passport and license with the body of email in the same template they have on the website and haven’t heard back and am anxious as it’s coming up and I need to get flights etc. am I missing something??

I only saw "Valladolid" at the top of my proposed appointment at first and then looked it up and got excited but realized my placement is actually in Segovia.... its close to Madrid by train which is awesome and on google maps it seems charming but looks very quiet which I'm sure is nice but I am nervous or hesitant to accept.

can I show the proposed appointment email or should it be the Carta and is there an official letter or is the email okay? is there a place in profex?

hi I just got placed at a highschool in castille y Leon in Valledolid. I’m realizing I’m scared and have more primary school experience. has anyone ever tried to get a different school by emailing etc.?

1. anyone from bc who's going to Toronto consulate- can med cert be authenticated and apostilled through provincial (I'm from BC) BC authentication and not GAC? provincial would be easier so it only needs to be mailed back once to save time. the consulate website says "apostille by GAC or provincial authorities.."?

2. it says "Applicants must submit the original and a copy of a medical certificate.."should I make a copy of the certificate before notarized or after authenticated or copy of which part?

Hi, I got placed in Castille y Leon and practice Spanish where I can and can understand words and phrases but how did people find housing in the past, I know to go in person to see it first and idealists etc. but still a bit worried due to language barriers and anti-tourist sentiments etc. thanks!

I’m seeing ppl didn’t accept their placement and got replaced in their first choice. last year mine was Valencia which I regretted not taking and I’m wondering if I should also regret accepting my placement in Castille y leon this year as I’m unsure about it and if I could’ve gotten my first choice Valencia (also it looks like a hard region to travel from)

TLDR: Please criticize my 'plan b' or give me any reviews on castille y Leon as an English aux as someone who may not necessarily 'fit in'

hi I got into castille y Leon as an English aux and am hoping to leave my job I have in Canada by October so if I do not end up doing nalcap due to extremely rural placement or visa timing issues then my plan b pivot is I hope to do a Celta starting October, I am from BC Canada so could get a visa to work with the working holiday visa and apply to English academies, should I do a Celta in spain rather than in Canada? I want to travel Europe, get experience working as a teacher and was hoping for a larger city, I will of course practice learning Spanish but am Arab and a lesbian and I know castille y Leon is more conservative and perhaps has anti-immigrant sentiment, so would love to move to a larger city there, perhaps Valencia. I would love to practice Spanish, make queer friends (or not be completely isolated) and go to music shows and concerts.... if I have working rights thru whv are there any other issues with my plan b pivot.

TLDR English: Hoping to make friends/ wondering if I'll be completely isolated in Castille y Leon as an Arab Lesbian after hearing people say "fachadolid" (Hoping to stay in Valladolid)

Soy árabe y lesbiana, y estoy familiar con viviendo a las grandes ciudades, pero quiero probar algo nuevo. Valladolid me parece preciosa, pero estoy muy nerviosa porque he oído a gente decir "fachadollid". ¿Alguien recomienda la zona o vive allí? Entiendo que en España hay cierta mentalidad antiinmigrante/antiturista. Sé que probablemente estaré a salvo físicamente, pero quizás no me "bienvenida". ¿Es muy difícil encontrar vivienda?Qué opináis?

TLDR:Got my third choice, can I reject after receiving a placement if I don’t like the area?

Last year i was placed in Valencia and waited a full year to re apply. I applied this year in the first 20 min and got my last choice - Castilla Y Leon. while it looks like a beautiful region, I was hoping to be placed more in the city (I am queer and enjoy music events and already live around older crowds so was hoping to be around more young ppl)…. I’m worried if i reject it again that I’ll regret it like this year. my main goal is to teach and travel Europe but there are other routes for this that don’t have the rushed visa process for something I’m unsure about. can I accept the region and then reject my placement if it’s very rural etc.?
