Sorry, my previous post here got auto removed by Reddit, so I have to post it again.

We know it is already confirmed to be canon that World War II was a global conflict triggered by a massive clash between the children of the Big Three (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades) in the books' universe, but there is still no official conclusion for which side did the demigod children of each god join during the war. So we can only have speculations, and I want to share what I think was the most possible situation according to the traits of the characters in the books:

Zeus' children: The Axis, particularly Germany and Imperial Japan

• Massive ego and superiority complex, often claimed to be God's chosen ethnic, known for being good at air strikes like the Blitzkrieg and Kamikaze, and worships of thunderbolts, eagles, and wolves(there was an epithet of Zeus called Zeus Lycaeus, which literally means "Wolf Zeus"), and had a heavenly emperor/kaiser.

Poseidon's children: The USA, the British Empire, and the USSR

• Had a huge navy, proficient in sea battles, was known for their maritime expansions in history, and has a culture deeply associated with horses, like the British knights, the American cowboys, and the Tatars in Russia)

Hades' children: The Republic of China and the Southeast Asian countries like the Philippines.

• The only country that did not have a formal air or sea army in WW2 and had to fight with only their ground troops was the RoC. In the book Hades himself said his children were fighting at the losing side, and the RoC was actually losing for 90% of the war and was only fighting alongside the other Allies until later on. It also makes more sense that those Southeast Asian countries were very peaceful, far less aggressive and violent than the other factions, like Hades himself is chill compared to the other two brothers.

Note that this is just my take on the top members of the countries they supported, not exactly their people or the main leader. I know even though Rick himself already stated that the H man himself was not a demigod, but that doesn't eliminate the possibility of the other top members in their party being the children of the Big Three and he was a puppet. So I theorized that WW2 in the Percy Jackson universe happemed this way: for a long time, the demigod children of Zeus and Poseidon were competing with each other, and Hades' children remained neutral and stayed out of most conflicts. The demigod children of Zeus wanted to reestablish their dominance over the mortals, knowing that Poseidon's children would not join them. They asked the children of Hades to help them but were refused. So Zeus' children attacked Hades' children from the east, and Poseidon's children from the west eventually led to the outbreak of the conflict.
