Partner is 8 years younger and has approximately 350k in retirement accounts.

I know that we are doing much better than most people in terms of retirement savings. I had the luck of super sizing my contributions over the last decade due to higher earnings and generous employer matches.

I’m hoping to take the pedal off the gas in terms of full time employment by the time all college is paid and final mortgage payments are made in 10 years.

Life has thrown curveball and I’m presently without work. No more retirement contributions until I get another job. Putting much more (severance) into cash/liquid accounts currently to weather the unemployment storm.

Curious how others around my age are doing. Been seeing a lot of good 401k numbers by millennials and Gen Z lately.
