📣 Community Reminder: Keep Discussions Constructive & Respectful + Feedback Poll
Hi everyone,
We’ve noticed some heated arguments recently on certain posts, particularly around the teasing of bronzers. We want to remind everyone that while it's completely okay to disagree and different opinions are what make discussions interesting, disagreements need to remain CONSTRUCTIVE and RESPECTFUL.
Sometimes it can be difficult to differentiate criticism from snark, especially since rhode and its founder are often frequent targets of negativity online. We want to ensure discussions remain thoughtful and productive rather than unnecessarily hostile on here. There are already many spaces online dedicated to criticizing the brand and we do not want this sub to become one of them.
If someone is being rude or aggressive, please STOP engaging and report the comment or post to the mod team instead. We will not hesitate to mute or ban users who are repeatedly unconstructive, disrespectful, or engaging in hostile behaviour. We will also consider muting people who keep arguing instead of reporting as this is not the spirit we want to have in this sub.
👉 Additionally, if you don’t like a post, please just move on. There is no need to leave rude comments or make others feel uncomfortable for sharing their thoughts. This community should not become a place where people are afraid to post or participate. If it’s something you wouldn’t say to someone in real life, please don’t say it here.
Once again: it’s okay to disagree, but let’s keep things CONSTRUCTIVE AND RESPECTFUL.
Actions we are taking:
• Posting pinned moderator comments on heated threads as reminders.
• Locking repetitive threads and redirecting discussions to existing threads when needed.
• Muting and requiring mod approval for comments/posts from users who continue engaging in arguments.
‼️ With this being said, we also wanted to ask for community feedback on the below:
Would you prefer:
- A single recurring megathread for complaints/venting/negative feedback that would be pinned at the top of this sub ("Salty Sessions")
- Keeping discussions and opinions as they currently are throughout the main sub (with the removal of repetitive posts)
Please vote and/or comment with your thoughts.
Lastly please let us know if you have any concerns, suggestions or any feedback about the sub. We want this sub to remain welcoming, enjoyable and open for everyone 🫂
