Tenzing film.

Is it not wild that the country which this story is based in, barely even gets a release in Nepal?

I know apple tv has the rights to the film, but they really should have made this available somehow in Nepal, barely anyone has access to apple TV here, no theatre release, its almost as if they don't care about how it is seen in Nepal.

For one of the more important stories based in Nepal about a Nepali (I know there is some debate around this) you would think it would be accessible here.

Imagine making a movie about Neil Armstrong and then barely having it available in USA...??

All this means is people will be pirating it OCT 16th.

Saw La Haine at Lichaavi today. AMAZING FILM!

This movie has always been in my watchlist but I never got around to it. What A FILM!. And got to see on the big screen. That infamous dolly zoom....aaahhh.

Man a movie nepalis can relate to a lot. I've always felt Nepal and France have that rebellion heart, its a commonality we share.

Sadly I believe if a nepali were to even try and make a similar film about recent happenings in Nepal it would most likely be censored and never see the light of day.

We literally have a rapper as a PM and still stuck with backwards ass laws regarding freedom of expression especially in film. Thoughts?

Guys Elephants in the Fog has officially been selected by Nepal today for the oscars as our entry, will it be the first Nepali movie to make it to the International Feature Film Nominees?

I know Caravan was nominated as a nepali film....but this will be the first directed by a Nepali.

Did you enjoy Elephants in the Fog, then here is two recommendations...

  1. Pan's Labyrinth - In 1944 Francoist Spain, a lonely young girl escapes the brutal cruelty of her fascist stepfather by retreating into a mesmerizing yet dangerous mythical labyrinth, where a magical faun tasks her with three perilous trials to prove she is a lost underground princess (IMDB)

  2. Gone Baby Gone - Two Boston area detectives investigate a little girl's kidnapping, which ultimately turns into a crisis both professionally and personally. (IMDB)
