Peeling Cards When You’re Up to Act

In every tournament no matter the buy in I see players peel their cards only right when the action is on them, the reasoning I’ve heard is to develop routine and not give away tells but I feel like once action is on you and everyone is watching you peel you’ll give more chances to have your tells read? I want to open discussion on why others peel their cards when action is on them. There is also the thought that if you look right away at your cards you then get more time to focus on others tells as well rather than preparing to act on your own cards. Let me know your thoughts

Just got called a F**king N***er when crossing a crosswalk in Boise, ID

Wanted to get this off my chest here. While crossing a crosswalk today in Boise, ID a car driving by yelled out ‘f**king n***er!’ After I had crossed. Unfortunately my guard was so down I did not turn to see what type of car it was in time or was not aware enough to yell something back. Although I am not black the only other time I’ve been yelled slurs at while being a pedestrian in 10 other states was in LA. Please do better Boise. I never would have expected the people here to feel comfortable enough to try that.
