Development Update – Kemono.cr Alternatives

I wanted to share another quick update with everyone.

Over the last few days, I've been focused on improving the site's overall stability and addressing the issues that appeared after the unexpected traffic surge. Several backend changes have already been made, and performance is noticeably better than it was immediately after the crash.

I'm still working through bug reports and feature issues as they come in. Some fixes are straightforward, while others require larger changes behind the scenes. My priority is making sure the core functionality is reliable before moving on to smaller improvements and quality-of-life features.

One thing I've learned from the recent traffic spike is that the community is much larger and more active than I originally expected. While that created some challenges, it's also incredibly motivating and shows there's real interest in what we're building.

Earlier than expected, the website link was shared publicly (leaked), which resulted in a much larger amount of traffic than the platform was prepared to handle at this stage. Unfortunately, this caused the site to become unstable and eventually crash.

While this wasn't part of the original plan, it has actually been a useful learning experience. The unexpected traffic exposed several issues that weren't showing up during internal testing, allowing me to identify problems that need to be addressed before a full launch.

I also want to thank everyone who has taken the time to report bugs, broken features, and other issues. Please know that I've seen your reports, and I'm aware of many of the current problems affecting the site. Your feedback has been incredibly valuable and is helping me prioritize what needs to be fixed first.

Right now, my main focus is improving stability, fixing reported issues, and making sure the platform can handle a much larger number of users moving forward.

One more thing I'd like to address: Yes, many of these updates are written with the help of ChatGPT. English is not my first language, and I use it to help communicate updates more clearly and professionally. I'd rather use a tool to help avoid mistakes and make sure everyone understands what's going on than risk confusing people with poor translations or grammar. The information and updates are still coming directly from me—ChatGPT simply helps me express them more clearly.

I know things aren't perfect right now, and I truly appreciate everyone's patience while I work through these challenges. Every bug report, suggestion, and piece of feedback helps move the project forward.
